  • Ahhh, enjoy your superiority!

  • The numbers say otherwise. If it didn't, they wouldn't bother.

  • It's possible. I would not argue against you. But most sport has those elements.

  • There have been a few European players in the NFL. The team I follow, the Minnesota Vikings, have had a number of international players at least tryout for the team. We've had a German wide receiver on the roster for 2 years, a player from Africa, (I can't remember the country right now), and a couple Aussie and New Zealand kickers. In fact, we will have a punter from Australia this year trying to make the team. And there have been a few Polynesians in the NFL over the years also.

So, American football does have enough worldwide players to draw at least few players. Though almost all attend collage in the US to gain better skills and attention. I wonder if the reason more Europeans don't gain much attention from the NFL is because you generally aren't big enough, (don't feel bad 90% of the world isn't). There is almost a genetic lottery you need to win at birth to even have a start at being good enough.

  • So, what did I say that factually wrong?

  • NFL football players use that armor as a weapon.....

  • American football is gaining popularity in Europe and South America at a pretty healthy clip. Enough so that the NFL is now sending teams to play games in those places. They are even starting to consider expanding a couple of teams to Europe in the future. And there are more and more international players starting to get a foothold in the NFL as players.

You might have won a battle, but you could lose still lose the war........

  • You really need to trace where the power from that coal plant goes. It probably mostly goes to cities 100's of miles away, (NIMBY). Just like the power from solar and wind farms. Nor was it the choice of those rural Americans to build that coal plant there. But they still get to drive by it so you can game on your console.

  • I've been fooling with Linux for nearly as long. I ain't no gamer beyond the intense game of KPatience, but I'm amazed at just how far and versatile Linux has become. From servers to gaming to real-time kernels that can power industrial machinery. It's got something for everyone.

  • Hey, thanks for the link! I'm not a vegan, but I do respect the choice. And I'm always on the lookout for good recipes! Good food is good food.

  • No.

  • To be fair, someone did have the malice aforeskin to have an AI separated backup. They did get things restored from a snapshot. It just took a couple of days to do it.

But the loss of reputation and revenue is gonna sting for a good while.

  • Hollywood hasn't had a fresh idea since 1913. It's all retread ideas.

So I say push the Black Widow. The character is already its own thing. Smart, skilled, powerful. The lesbian angle is good. Womanizing sells in Hollywood heros. Maybe have her fight an evil gang of TERFs or something.

  • And yet, governments fall to armed rebellion even yet today.

  • A side story about the Okapi.

When the Okapi became a big thing to the public, a German cutlery manufacturer designed a distinctive looking cheap and useful knife that was named after the Okapi. They became popular pocket knives with German soldiers and often found in the German trenches in WW1. The Okapi knives were made in Germany until the 1980s when the tooling and name was sold to a cutlery and tool manufacturer in South Africa where they are made to this day.

They are still cheap and rugged enough for daily use. And quite popular in poorer parts of the world. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones was known to regularly carry a large Okapi knife he was given.

  • I love gooses. Smoked goose is a treat fit for the gods.

  • It's a feature.

  • Hench Lives Matter!

  • Yep. That's the accepted idea. But at our core we are still all pack animals. It's hard to get away from the "lizard brain."
