  • Although you're right that that energy is not spent cooking, it is helping to heat your home, and save you mental energy. Energy you can spend calculating how much energy you're actually saving.

You're talking about a couple hundred watts. You could cook non-stop for your entire life and you still wouldn't waste as much energy as a single flight with a modern airplane.

We're spending more just typing on our phones today, considering the phone, the inefficient charger left plugged in, the server of the platform we're posting on.

Try seeing of any of the lamps in your house can be upgraded to led. That could save you hundreds of watts for hours every day. (hundreds of watts per hour).Go to work by bicycle, or train, or bus. (thousands of watts a day)\

  • There have been countless ideas to make cars more efficient. But guess what? That doesn't make oil billionaires more billions, so you're not going to get much investment

  • I checked on steam here in Europe, I did not see any adult content disappear. But to be fair, payment processors don't get to discriminate here

  • Ye no shit. Anyone who thinks for more than two seconds should realise there is no universal knowledge that's just magically equal for everyone. "Common sense", is probably closer to "being reasonable" but more often used to say "just go with your first thought"

  • Yes, that would be great

  • Oh, good catch! I have to say I don't usually look at what specific tls version websites use. I'll be paying attention to this for a bit

    1. private, secure dns, so they don't know the domains you're visiting
    2. https everywhere, so they can't see any of the data you're sending or receiving

All that's left is what ip's you're connecting to. Which is useless half the time, especially since most websites are behind cloudflare or some other anti-ddos proxy already.

Also, don't use the web browser that came with your phone. Some manufacturers and isp's might enjoy adding tracking into those. Some, like Apple, even got caught not encrypting amy of that.

    Side note:

    • https everywhere is pretty much the standard in modern web browsers
    • an adblocker can still help a lot in blocking trackers
    • a secure dns you can find in your browser settings
  • Dang, sounds like those plates are perfectly age appropriate for your gf

  • Step 1. unlock your bootloaderStep 2. Ditch samsung/xiaomi/oneplus/motorola/whatever's default softwareStep 3. Put lineageOS or something on thereStep 4. Enjoy not dealing with bullshit

  • ey that's cool

  • Oh no! Shell lied... again.. and again... and again.. and noe again? Who could've seen that coming?

  • TLDR: Two people in a car hit someone and stop. Look under the car, see someone stuck and alive under there. So they decide to just.. keep driving, slowly grinding down the flesh of the victim still alive and feeling. Until eventually they die from their injuries.

Then later they forcefully pulled the dead corpse from the car, that took a few tries. And just left the corpse.

This is cold blooded murder. But using a car, that is semi legal for some reason

  • Ye, but, the ui sucks :/

Why can't they decouple it from the webview yet? Like how it was for a while, and how it works on the android app

  • Before I watch, I am wondering. And maybe this is a stupid question.

Why do I keep seeing these posts of conservatives caring a lot about things, that I've never heard in context of conservative stuff before?

  • Not polluting in the First place would've been cheaper, but then some rich guy wouldn't be as rich. These kinds of ecosystems can be fragile when overall temperatures change and/or too much foreign material is added

  • Bruh, this is not news. And with the exception of a rare genetic mutation where your body makes a heck of a lot of the stuff, you won't be experiencing toxicity either.

And hey, I've also solved obesity! Just eat less!

Really tho, this woman is misrepresenting the issue
