  • Because this user didn’t attend. Meetings are generally long form and dynamic. Which can’t be done as efficiently in email. 30-60 minutes meetings are fine to attend in person (in terms of parsing information). Consuming that same information via video after the fact is a chore; as is relying on the note taking skills of another employee. I agree with the user you’re replying to. Note taking is one of the few things AI is decent at.

Why go through all the effort of getting a degree (and presumably a job in the relevant field) to risk losing it all and a criminal conviction to snoop on your roommate? If you’re that paranoid put BIOS passwords on your device and get a smart plug that’ll log whenever the device draws power.

    I’m unsure what your position is here, that these communities, be it in Lemmy or elsewhere aren’t frequently dealing with the posts I referenced or that people (plenty of which, have explicitly told you) aren’t tired of it. I am sure this conversation has probably reached its apex and that by this stage we’re probably not going to learn anything further about each others opinions.

    I rephrased a rule to seem less “suppressing any criticism of JKR” as your provided example. It highlight her actions and makes it clear what the comm is about.

    I’m aware I could create a comm, thank you. I’d much rather advocate this for the current community as I am currently doing rather than just taking my ball and starting an entire new comm. I get you disagree and that’s fine but I’m not the only person tired of seeing content from a pitiful, hateful person in practically any HP related community.

    You can expect defederation from a few instances, and probably the whole instance being qualified as "transphobic friendly"

    If those instance wanted to defederate because I wasn’t willing to have off topic posts of the latest hate filled tweet from an idiot, then that’s their prerogative.

  • I really think people who are not posting anything here but JK Rowling posts should be discouraged if not a rule made for it. I think an overwhelming portion of the fan base disagree with or at least are aware of her opinions on trans people.

    I like HP, I like HP memes and JK won’t see another cent from me. Which sucked because I wanted to play legends due to never getting any real solid HP games as a kid. That said, I would like a HP community that isn’t plagued with these sort of post though.

  • Yeah SharePoint links are cooked. I copied a url from SharePoint and it crashed my remote session with someone and pretty sure its BSoD my device more than once. Upping the file path limit locally won’t help.

    You can go to a SharePoint folder on the site and hit “sync” which will then add it to your file explorer if you have OneDrivs. Makes for easier navigation and collaboration. Fucked if I know how end users were meant to divine that.

  • I would consider seeing an audiologist. Generally they deal with people with hearing loss but I’ve seen mention of tinnitus at mine and I think some hearing aids come with tinnitus suppression, so I’d be surprised if it isn’t something they can help with.

  • As Gratux explained style or padding. Once one section (or topic) of an exam is done they occasionally pad it and the last (back) page is generally left blank and is the designated “doodle to amuse yourself/examiner” space.

  • There’s actually a purpose for this I found out after joking about similar on exam papers. Turns out if you don’t mark the page intentionally blank people freak out that they’re missing a page.
