  • Lots of binary decoders, multiplexers and counters so it's probably something to do with the ALU (arithmetic logic unit, where the computer does all its maths)

  • Just finished & installed this fella, nice pine breakfast bar thing. Tried out thickening the edge to make it seem chunkier than it is and came out lovely I think

  • Yeah I did think about that, but they're quite firmly built in at the top with a big thick bracing piece tying them into the tabletop, I think it'll be fine :)

  • It sounded nothing like a cat to me, honestly. It was more like a squawk in real life, with a consistent high pitched ending sound which barely comes across in the recording, I've never heard a cat make a sound like that

  • British and living in the UK - my experience is quite the opposite actually, never read HG Wells but have read 20,000 Leagues, Around the World, and Journey to the Centre of the Earth multiple times, though I come from quite a francophone family so that might have had an influence.

    Obviously I'm aware of Wells and his works, but I'd say Verne is just as culturally familiar here as Wells is
