  • I do differentiate between genderfluid and questioning, and only call the latter "non-committal" (that distinction is made in the next sentence in the Wikipedia article), although I guess mentioning it next to fun crossdressing could play down the exploration process. And I did make the distinction between biological (sexual) characteristics, gender expression and gender identity (which is usually based on some or all gender characteristics).

I suppose I didn't make myself clear enough: it's up to people to select their gender identity based on their feeling, and also a separate gender expression (although they tend to correlate), regardless of biological characteristics. What's new to me is that the "genderfluid" label can refer to gender expression varying across the body, not just in time. Yes, the title is a bit reductive and I guess it might be incorrectly interpreted as one implying the other, hence the explanation (which only lists a couple examples of common identities of feminine-looking people with penises). Not to mention, terms are evolving: "bisexual" used to be a synonym of "hermaphroditic".

By the way, use the forward slash for an ASCII ≠ (=/=), a single backslash gets hidden by most Markdown interpreters

  • DATA, it's legacy (1.0-2.0) USB's differential pair for backwards compatibility. You only need one side to make contact so they decided to simplify plugs for devices that use the legacy mode. For example most mice and keyboards, even ones with USB-C, still use USB 1.1 because they don't need the extra speed, and 1.1 cables are cheaper because the low speed allows them to be unshielded and still not suffer much interference.

  • The colors were chosen by somebody at Microchip but this has become the go-to picture for USB-C pinout. Here's the original PDF and here's a one-page vector version I made, you can print it as a poster:

  • USB has been plagued by many weird decisions and scope creep but I really hope USB-C puts an end to that. A fully wired cable contains enough twisted pairs for just about any application and the physical properties are great. Too bad manufacturers will keep creating non-compliant devices such as naïve hubs that don't account for PD voltage mismatch, or cables/chargers that claim to do something and actually don't, making it a coin toss as to what devices they work with.

  • Do they realize this may be the only way some people can legally play the games? I can imagine lots of disabilities that only let people play with a niche controller

  • The owner is a Polish Catholic.

"We believe that the involvement of the Pope will help to convince them to spend some time and use this opportunity to learn programming for free," Mr Mironiuk explained to the BBC.

Yes, checks out. Who else would think that the Pope is a role model for kids?

  • Hallo Alter

  • I’m lucky I only shop at Black Mesa

  • I thought eating beef was taboo in India regardless of religion, as in – you could get away with it in private but good luck finding a butcher that would prepare one without ruining your reputation in the neighborhood. The taste is not good enough to risk it. However, (not) eating beef is an actual choice if you go abroad.

  • If the amount is 2.5 %/yr of non-essentials, there is still lots of ways one could make money significantly faster with a good business strategy and lots of luck, and have a probability of eventually reaching a net worth in the billions. However, there's a difference between following the letter of the “law” and its spirit.

  • It could work if you aggregated incompatible providers in the same category (such as weather) into one big aggregate API. That way, people wouldn’t need to refactor if their favorite API provider ramps up pricing or dies. But how would I trust you to keep offering the same service at a good price point instead of an established meteorological institution? Also, I think weather aggregators already exist.
