  • Yeah, I don’t remember ever saying, “I need to go to bed,” as a kid. I say it a lot as an old person, but as a kid, sleep was pretty much always forced on me, either by parents or sheer exhaustion.

  • This is a really good point! It used to be “a computer is only as smart as its user.” The same can be said of AI: the model’s results are kind of dictated by the prompt. while anyone can prompt an AI with whatever they want, it takes experience to use an AI to develop a project from idea to v1. At the e d of the day, the AI can search the web better than me, and type faster than I can - but I know what I want my code to do, and I know how I want it done. Those two things don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

  • Adding an obscure one: Judy Greer did a short-lived sitcom with Chris Parnell in the late 00s called Miss Guided. She played a high school guidance counselor. The theme song was played for all of about 2-3 seconds at the beginning of every episode, but that was enough for me to find the band. The song is Beautiful Possibility by The Lisa Parade.

    Is it good that states are doing this? Of course not. Will red states stop/revert if blue states do the same? Of course not.

    So what are our options?

    1. Continue taking the high ground, while the GOP actually gains seats in the House on the coattails of Trumps newly historically low approval rating (33% as of today)
    2. Actually fight back in ways that matter. Respond in kind to their fuckery. Do what they do every damn time they are in the minority.

    I hate that it’s come to this. I like that VA’s new maps sunset, and revert to the bipartisan commission in 2030. Did any of the red states do that? Still, Trump is writing the rules. Dems & blue states are just playing by them.
