  • Every C-Suite think they will be able to snatch senior devs that other companies will train.

  • LLMs are just one way to monetize the data. I would bet hand over fire that Microsoft used the data as soon as they bought GitHub.

  • I'm with you on that. It will not happen

  • There is a value tied to the non-salary benefits. Include that in the cap.

  • it makes sense. My rationale behind putting the NAS on the MGMT and then passing disk space through mounted drives is that I can create any number of VLANs if I want, and give bits and pieces of the NAS drive through the services, without ever having to change my NAS configuration (other than creating the shares I need)

I wanted to just add more storage space to proxmox and distribute it through the services, but considering the prices of NVMe drives, the rock5c with the sata hat was a lot more cost effective since I had 2x 2TB SSD not doing much in my computer.

Should my NAS be on the management VLAN or the Services VLAN?

  • They should because high gaz prices means everything is more expensive since everything is shipped by truck or boat.

  • Competitor will give their services as a loss lead and suffer the same fate as OpenAI where they will need to raise the prices or limit the number of prompts.

No AI company has put the true cost of AI prompts. AI companies hope that as many corporations as possible will fully integrate their processes with AI, locking them into their ecosystem and milk them dry.

  • Payroll is only the fraction of the price for any product or service.

If you raise your payroll, it only raise the price for your product or service by the percentage of the payroll cost for your product or service.

So yes, things will cost more, but the employees pay will raise more than the price of the product or service, giving more buying power to the employees.

This is a really dumbed down explanation. There are other factors to consider when pricing something. But considering that payroll is only a portion of the price equation, any increase in dollar per hour is beneficial to the employees and will outpace the increased cost of the product or service.

  • Debian is a solid distro, so use that if you want to stay within that environment

  • Yeah but a higher up would have to take responsibility, we can't have that

  • I had an allergy reaction test with my son last week. It's a two hours test where he eats an increasingly bigger portion of allergen to see if he is still allergic.

We arrive 15 mins early for our scheduled start at 9:15. We are the first of the day for the test. 9:55 we finally see the doctor. The first appointment of the day starts late by 40 mins.

The appointment before that one, we were scheduled at 10:00. By 11:45, we still haven't seen the doctor to start the two hour test. And I'm being told that this is normal by a nurse.

    Just fucking infuriating all around.

  • Parents are key in bringing other trustworthy adults in their kids life. Not having a father or a mother will greatly reduce these opportunities as the life of a single parent is significantly harder and leave less time for socializing with other parents, thus reducing the interactions their kids have with other adults.

  • Humans naturally try to mimic other people that are like them in their environment. Can boys become happy and decent humans without a male role model? Absolutely.

However, lots of studies have shown that a lack of good same sex role model usually have a negative impact on young people that lasts into adulthood.

And let's be real, fathers abandon their children a lot more than mothers, so that affects young boys a lot more than young girls.

  • They allow it for now and that is the issue. They've shown their hand and we know what Google is aiming for and they will slowly roll it out.

  • Why not a healthy mix of everything?

  • There is 2 things that are measured in efficiency.

The first thing is as you mentioned, how much of the solar energy is absorbed. 100% would mean that all the solar energy on the surface of the cell would be absorbed.

The second thing is how much of the absorbed energy of the solar cell is converted into usable energy.

For a square meter of sun, there is about 1kW of energy, or 1000W.

If the solar panel of one square meter is efficient at 50% to absorb the solar energy, 500W would be available.

Then, if the circuitry is 90% efficient at converting the absorbed energy into usable power, you would get 450W of usable power.

The overall system efficiency is 450W/1000W, or 45%. So 45% of the solar power that hits the solar panel is usable at the output of the whole system.

This is a really watered down version of how things really work, but that should help you navigate this article.

  • My guy, linking H3 as a proof of anything is losing you any credibility on the matter.

And that Mike guy video is basically a "nuh-huh" of 4h about Hasan.

Edit: and the comment section of both videos are a cesspool.

  • How is Hasan remotely extremist? In any other country, he is a run of the mill progressive.
