  • Hummm, do you have or had a display name? By had I mean when you logged in eternity did you have one, even if you removed afterwords.

    This just reminded me of this other post and the problem at that time seemed to be with display names.

    But if that wasn't the case, did you try the basics? Log out and in again, clear app cache, uninstall and reinstall the app, check if it is the latest version and any info if that is also happening in the nightly build?(turns out the basics are pretty long) nonetheless any more info can help.

  • That was in fact a feature of infinity for reddit, but the multireddits were a reddit thing( infinity just made it easy to have access to it and manage them in some clever ways)

    Now in regards of eternity, this was already questioned on the old community here: https://lemmy.world/post/3613830

    Tl:dr the dev probably will make it a feature in the future, but for now it's not working

  • Good to know, I already opened an issue at codeberg , also I believe that now that your account is already logged in you can change your display name if you would like

    Edit: good to have a confirmation that changing them back doesn't affect the ability to see the posts once you already logged in without a display name

  • Thanks to you I think I figured out the reason.(in my case of course)

    The Cause of the problem my display name.(at least at my testing) You said you had no problem, but I has, so I checked to see if our accounts had any notable difference, and I found that you don't have a display name, I had, so I took mine off and now it works(although after changing I have to log off and back in again;-;)

  • interesting, maybe it was only ported to lemmy.world[and maybe other instances](something similar to how months ago you were only able to log in liftoff with lemmy.world) maybe tomorrow I would think of opening an issue at codeberg (if I figure out how to do it).

    • About the images=that's just how imgur works, you upload a certain amout of photos, and it gets you a link to them, and eternity (and some other apps) open those links just as the images. Ps= I am not completely sure, but that probably works on other services for sharing images that are not imgur)

    • now to favorite communities= make sure you are at the latest version (currently 0.1.0) as this is a new feature added this update>now go the the side tab>go to the account part(you can see the first option being profile and subscription the third is inbox and then saved)>click on the subscription button> now you will se a panel with all your subscriptions and after them a heart Symbol if you click on it it will favorite the community

  • I want to implement multicommunities in the future though

    Good to know it's at least being thought on, it was one of my favorite features.

  • It could be a planned thing(taking that they changed the names), but I believe for now it's just some leftovers from reddit
