  • I love finding these on my feed, thank you!

  • I love how the zombie looks like you just told them it was actually Saturday and not Monday after their alarm went off lol "what?! No way! Yay!"

  • Purging and reorganizing my office and craft space, dun dun DUH! That's right folks, I have to open all the ADHD doom boxes full of forgotten treasures. If I don't report back by Friday, send a rescue team.

  • Textile work! Could be sewing, weaving, dying, etc. I love working with fabrics and making them into usable 3D objects. Recently, as in the last two weeks, I've started working with wool felt with the vague idea of making insect brooches but I ended up making a cat toy instead lol.

  • I think hearing from parents and getting insight into their perspectives is interesting and worthwhile. Provided it's not an unproductive dog pile of "you'll never understand true love" or "you're just selfish" nonsense. I'm secure in my position of being a childfree person, nothing another person says or thinks will change my mind or make me doubt myself or feel ashamed of my choice etc.

I'm childfree because I want to be and because I simply don't want to raise children. I'm unlikely to regret not doing something I've never wanted to do in the first place. I also don't want to be a surgeon or learn to play the oboe or dedicate my life to a religion or climb Everest or any number of things that take time and dedication and commitment and effort for a result/purpose I'm entirely uninterested in experiencing personally.

I also love and whole heartedly support my friends and loved ones who are parents. They have an immensely difficult job that I certainly don't want to do, and they impress me all the time with how much care and dedication they pour into being parents. I learn so much by holding space for them and my perspectives on life are enriched by listening to theirs. My own choice to not parent is also consistently reinforced by their stories and shared experiences lol.

I feel like a live and let live approach goes a long way in supporting open and productive dialog when it comes to this particular subject.

  • Thank you for bringing this into my life

  • I love this analogy so much.

  • I had the fortunate experience of growing up with great-grandparents living, as well as some of their siblings. I got to hear first-hand experiences from 3 generations of women (mother, grandmothers, and two great-grandmothers plus various aunts sprinkled in). It was invaluable for me. Knowing their life stories and the truth of what they endured has helped me navigate life in so many ways.

It also has been incredible armor against the flood of misplaced nostalgia and outright manipulation of history that seems so prevelant. My great-grandmother was born in 1908 and died in 2002. She left her abusive husband in the 1930s and raised her kids as a single mom in a time when it was exponentially more difficult to do so. Glad she got out when she did with 4 instead of 14...

  • So nice, I saw it twice!

  • I was outted to my highly conservative and religious family by a Jesus-freak aunt who stalked my now deleted social media. I would not have chosen to come out to my family, it's been just as horrible as I assumed it would be.

I currently work in a conservative Southern US town and I'm not out at work for safety purposes. I have been out in all my other jobs, this is the only one where it feels unsafe to be so. I'm seriously considering a career change at this point.

With my partner and my chosen family, I'm my fully queer and sparkly self✨️. It depends a lot on environment for many folks, I imagine. I've witnessed just as many young evangelicals spew hatred as boomers so idk how generational it is tbh. I think it's largely a religious issue, but I have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Christianity, so grains of salt with that last bit.

  • I was joking with my friend the other day that I wanted to resurrect the crinoline lol. I'd love a huge radius of fabric between me and other people. A swishy, pretty force field, so to speak.

  • Omg, I KNEW my therapist was really a herd of sheep in disguise!

  • Been cackling while reading David Mitchell's "Unruly" recently. Recommend to anyone who gets a kick out of irreverent history.

  • I was 11 years old when Jurassic Park hit theaters and my brother and I had our little minds blown, we were obsessed. I like a lot of Sam Neill's films, especially the wild Lovecraft ones he did hahaha but he'll always kind of be Dr. Grant for me, hit me in the feels a bit this one.

  • As a fellow bisexual in a passing relationship who experiences a ton of erasure, this convo thread is making my heart so happy🥰

Also, so happy to see velma out in the wild, so to speak! Your compliment on my skirt was so supportive and inspired me to make a new one this weekend. Meeting a friend I haven't seen in a long time at the craft store in a few hours for supply purposes, thanks again for the support!

  • You're entitled to your opinion, popular or otherwise. My tattoos are all original artwork designed by an artist I collaborated with and I love them. In my opinion, they also serve as an excellent litmus test when interacting with folks, they help me filter out the unaligned more readily.

  • Nice heterochromia!
