Promptly forgets all every movie you’ve ever watched, except for the most bland and basic answers ever.

  • White and black is just a product of the USA slave system.

    In Spanish territory they had:

    1. Peninsulares (Spaniards born in Spain)
    2. Creoles (born in New Spain of Spanish parents)
    3. Mestizos (born of Spanish and Indigenous Peoples parents)
    4. Indigenous Peoples
    5. Enslaved persons (brought from Africa and the Caribbean)

What is considered in a race changes over time. Hell, at times Jews and Irish weren’t considered white. Just dirty “others”. It’s only when the top caste hold on things is challenged do they let others join the ruling group.

  • The USA was mostly colonized by Germans, Irish, and English. So skin tones are usually much lighter.

Central and South America had a larger indigenous population, and the Spanish/Portuguese colonizers had a bit darker skin, with much more frequent inter racial relationships.

However, the region in question is fucking huge. Don’t expect Mexicans, Columbians, Argentinians to all look the same.

Really Hispanic is more of a cultural category for all things with Spanish Legacy.

  • Damn, Unidan in Lemmy? Who woulda thought.

  • To me, the big decider is plush carpets. The first level of my house is mostly hardwood and tile. The second floor, and living rooms have plush carpets. So if someone is unloading a car, getting ready to leave, or just general in/out stuff, sure leave the shoes on. Once you’ve decided to stay, get those shoes off and be welcome in the cozy areas of the house.

Which, coincidentally, is also the areas where other warm stuff is.

  • It’s not two bad.

  • Factorio is great at making you automate to save time. Endless map, with more and bigger resource piles as you move away.

ONI is about fighting entropy. Everything starts in a nice and easy to use format, but as you use it, you make all this waste heat and matter. It’s about finding ways to use all the waste products, or build natural means to convert materials by running pipes through areas of excess heat.

  • What’s wrong with trees? Just annoying to clear or something else?

  • I left mine on the carpet in my room. My mom came in to vacuum one day and thought it was just some scrap paper.

She was not amused by the 2 inch burnt mark it left on the carpet, or the shock it gave her.

  • All the stations are such over the top parodies. Real world people saying dumb shit isn’t funny, it’s sad.
