  • Thanks, I'm old and don't know how to paint things differently

  • Cheers, they have taken to the fairway of the 18th hole hunting down their corporate overlords.

  • Good article. Whilst they are not specifically titled as such I had always assume this fella on the left was the first appearance of a Hrud, he definitely has the look of quite a few of the later images.

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

Made my first piece of ork terrain, fairly pleased with how it has turned out.

  • Cheers

  • Cheers. He's a fun little model and his AdMech looks are exactly why I gave him a red coat.

Painted up this pair of rogues from L72 Miniatures

  • Cheers, I am very much stuck in the 90s

  • oldhammer @lemmy.world

I did a video with Josh at the Crown Of Command about the 1988 Golden Demon entries

  • Thanks, not too long. I used sponges to paint most of it fairly quickly, it's a technique that works great for painting 3D printed scenery.

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

Got all painted scenery on the table at the same time

Wood Elves vs Dwarfs Batlle Report From Crown of Command

  • 😂 The only think actually GW in this picture is a miniatures case in the background.

  • That's my excess greenstuff project, he's slowly becoming a giant for my Orc and Goblin army

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

    Another classic bunker printed off

  • Thanks, it's quite similar to painting miniatures. I tend to block in the lighter tones and then gradually add shading.

  • Cheers, its great fun and a fantastic opportunity to really pore over some truly fantastic art. I highly recommend it, even if there isn't a tiny person nagging you to do it.

  • Have a look through some of the early 40k rulebooks, there is tons of black and white line art in them as it was much easier and cheaper to print.

I have done a bunch of colouring in with them when the wee one has told me to colour in space marines whilst they are working away in their colouring books.

It's fairly easy to find PDFs online, then you just need to crop the images and print them out.

I finished painting my retro bastion and decided to play 90's White Dwarf

  • There is only one way to find out, I hope to see lots of happy little tanks running around soon

  • Cheers, I'm doing a bit of that with the grass around the base of this beast at the moment.

  • oldhammer @lemmy.world

More classic terrain that I'll never get round to painting

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

I had a few requests to design an APC in the style of my battle tank, so I thought I would fulfil those requests.

  • Thanks, it's for my Genestealer Cult so wanted to do an appropriate scheme.

Big Mavis is ready to roll!

  • oldhammer @lemmy.world

I decided to redesign the old Gomsmasha, I call it the Jawbreaka!

  • Cheers, I use the Vallejo's golden olive. It really pops.

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

Managed to find the time to finish another three Hybrids this morning

  • Cheers, I think it might be my only vibe when it comes to miniature painting 😂

  • Warhammer 40k @lemmy.world

Finished off some of my Hybrids

  • None of them are.

The figures in the original post are from a kickstarter coming out later in the year, I don't have anything to do with it myself but I was lucky enough to get a set of the early casts.

The tank is one of my own designs that I 3D printed, I've uploaded it to Cults 3D https://cults3d.com/en/users/Doctor-Spork/3d-models

The other fully painted ones I posted in the comments are from a couple of places. The big fell with the sword is from L72 Miniatures https://l72smetalminiaturesmusings.wordpress.com/ and the other two are tech cultists from Checkpoint Miniatures https://www.checkpointminiatures.co.uk/shop/ftw13-tech-cultists-with-leader/

To add to this I have the patriarch and landspeeder from L72 Miniatures, a bunch more of the tech cultists to use a brood brothers, a magus from Hybrid Miniatures, the land raider proxy I designed and 3D printed and a scratch built limo that I am building from a toy car.

This was meant to be a dozen figures and a limo for playing skirmish games with because my wife bought me some of the tech cultists, but as these things often do the scope of this project has grown arms and legs. Which is sort of appropriate for a Genestealer Cult I suppose.
