I made a previous post about this. Anecdotally, I've seen numerous human drivers hit pedestrians in SF. Number of Waymos hitting humans that I have seen in local news or in person, none.
They are very very conservative with their driving in SF but can still navigate SFs complex streets (I.e. when a doordash is parallel parked theyre very good at driving around them).
Read this and most of your other posts after this. If you're in San Francisco (i dont know but what youre describing sounds very much like it), I can only share my experience in the bay area, your posts just sound very pessimistic.
Yeah, some of my friends have run into people like that but humans tend to be very dynamic in that everyone is different. If you find a girl who expects that level of finances, unlikely to be a great partner anyways. There are people everywhere. You even said yourself your friends are single and I would imagine they wouldn't be your friends unless they had some qualities you like about them too. People are out there! Wishing you the best on your journey
Just did a brief search to see if I can find anything about breeding satiation out of dogs. I couldn't find anything but I found stuff like this.
But just my own internal thoughts:
Dogs had a long history into domestication with humans. It seemed like they knew if they stood by or had a partnership (I.e. helping with hunting) that they would get rewarded with food, shelter, etc. I'm not sure if bred out of satiation but I do believe dogs that were easier to domesticate had higher survival rates and like any animals, just are food motivated for survival too. They evolved with these tendencies
Edit: Also only one of my two dogs liked eating the same kibble every day. My current dog loves kibble but we got him out from a hoarding situation and he had food insecurity issues and behaviors for a while. He now knows that he will always be fed now but apparently he absolutely loves his kibble and would eat it over other foods (over wet dog food, PetFresh rolls, etc).
My other one was a Schnauzer mix and wasnt interested in any kibble as much.
Healthcare is just now starting to incorporate AI to supplement/compliment some of the work healthcare providers do. It will be interesting to see how the healthcare AIs will compare to the general AI models. I just met some healthcare teams that were sharing their results from using Andor Health AI and its impressive so far re: results of post- hospitalization follow up so far.
I know Lemmy/Piefed is very anti-AI but I do believe that whether we like or not, AI is coming to most industries. The best we can do is hope our employers utilize it "ethically" to supplement and as a tool alongside our work, not replace.
Do you have a citation for this? I'm in CA but none of the doctors I work with are Republicans. I know I just have a small sample size thats why asking for citations.
I have found its some of the nurses that are a mixed bag 😩
I think it depends on what youre asking for. Some search engines, not always AI but sometimes, I ask it really quick questions and I get answers. There may be calculators, conversation tools, etc already in the search.
I.e. what is 42 days from today. What's the release date of X game, etc.
I haven't had the time to switch to kagi yet but I have DDG and was just too lazy to turn off their AI feature. Didnt really bother me one way it the other. If the AI search doesnt answer my question I just move onto normal links. Again, for simple inquiries it just spits out the answers for me without having to click anything.
Sorry for your downvotes! I follow a lot of FIRE (Financial Independence Retirement Early). All blogs and else have still continued to recommend the 3 fund portfolio. Which includes US stocks...
Admittedly, idk if there's been a national shake up before in history but all financial peeps advising to stay the course... Historically, despite everything in past, its been solid.
This is sort of why I can't watch it. I appreciate the realism but it felt like being back at work. I watch TV to decompress. Props to them for getting medical right though!!
Agreed. I've also seen a lot of hits (and sometimes runs ) in San Francisco. I haven't seen a Waymo hit anyone yet and they have been able to navigate people parallel parking on the street. Waymos are not the best but they haven't hit anyone and def know how to drive better than the average person in the city.
I didn't even know that area had packs of stray dogs!!
Very sad. There are way too many dogs and cats out there :(
