The EU demands chinese companies partner up with european companies to get european public sector funding.

China has been demanding for decades that european companies partner up with chinese companies for any access to the chinese market, be it in goods, labor or public funding.

Why is it fair if China does it and not when the EU does it?

As if the companies would think long term instead of yearly profit... whoever comes up with a one and done flu vaccine will see an enormous (if short) spike in profits and shareholders will want that spike to sell at the highest price possible and maybe get some dividends along the way.

Dark Gods! My cast Iron cookware and my carbon steel pan have gotten me in the habit of doing dishes directly, because those motherfuckers will rust like a cybertruck when I let them sit three to four days. But on the plus side, I can mostly just use a paper towel or for harder stuff hot water and a brush and they are so very nice again. Dry and oil them after and they'll remain good for months and the seasoning only gets better with every use. (Except if I do something with tomatos or vinegar, the seasoning really doesn't like acid)

I want to live today, I wanted to live yesterday and I imagine the most likely state for tomorrow is "I still want to live". And I've absolutely had times, quite recently too, where my state was "maybe I don't have the drive to live anymore" but I always came out living and being okay with that. And I keep on preferring it to the very final alternative.

Opt-Out immortality is quite good! Opt-Out immortality and eternal youth is better.

The horror of eternal, unavoidable immortality is imho mostly just projection of the absolutely eternal and (likely) unavoidable horror of death. Absolutes are scary. But as long as I have the option to check out, you might find me enjoying living forever in eternity.

Steam actually developed an entire toolkit allowing developers to price their products fairly. Even as far as by purchasing power parity or market strength per country. This was done after Polish gamers complained about their games being the same price as in Germany.

The people who manufacture the drugs that make you go peacefully have embargoed the USA, because they don't want their drugs used for state sanctioned murder.

Obama had SOOO MUCH to make up for and wasn't able to rehabilitate the image of the US... and then everything got EVEN WORSE!

You've been like this AT LEAST since Regan. Trump is not the cause, he is a SYMPTOM of a sickness that has festered for AT LEAST 45 years, not only in your politics but in american society.

I imagine it'll take about the same amount of time to change the american people back into a nation that can be respected instead of feared and loathed.

Trump is nothing, he's unimportant in the grand scheme of things. The real enemy is the mindset of a majority (republican or democrat) of americans.

Yeah, I think all religion is superstition and all superstition is a negative force on humanity, but even I think that some religions and denominations are worse than others. And yes, evangelicism is among the very worst.
