  • Thank you for the insight.

This is Very interesting, way more than mildly.

  • It’s the authoritarian part they aspire, not the commie except to when it applies to them.

  • As a teenager/college student to have the experience, yes.

And then there’s families who do this, again for the experience. It's an American Rite of Passage without question.

But on the regular, LA to NY, ya gonna fly.

  • Damn I would really love to try some of that original cola, musta been a real hum-dinger back in the day!

  • I don’t know how to answer that for you.

I know my equipment, training, capabilities, limits, boundaries and community.

I’m ready but not just gonna go (armed) to City Council to fight flock.

Unsure what’s gonna trigger it all or whether it’s gonna just continue churning..something’s gonna give.

    I’m ready for it.

  • That’s not a solution unless it’s ur final stand.

Constituent showing up w a gun, likely would not get in through the door. If they did make it in, having a firearm at city council meeting would put a target on your back 100%.

So unless it’s ur last stand that’s just dumb af advice.

  • This right here.

I bought a used 2014 Chevy Volt in March and have only filled my tank twice since, two weeks ago was the second time. Tank is still full.

It’s a great car and I’ve been laughing to myself for the last 6 months.

  • Other way around.

    Andor then R1

  • Andor/R1 is the only post OT that matters.

  • Thank you for posting, the insight and having personal reference point. I almost glazed past this article and came to see the replies.

We also know China is not close to catching up. Chinese companies own only an estimated 5 percent of the world’s AI computing capacity — a fraction of what U.S. firms control. Much of Chinese AI firm innovation has come from “distillation” of more powerful U.S. models, meaning they advance primarily at the pace of U.S. companies. If we slow down, they are likely to slow down.

This is super relevant and TIL, the whole not slowing down because China will surpass or catch up is a massive red herring, if this is true.

Fuck all the oligarchs and techbros. None of this is good news for humanity.

  • Use Signal instead.

  • I agree and the only folks I give a pass to are immigrants, otherwise if US born there's absolutely no excuse to choose being uneducated or choosing to sit out politics.

  • Mieville became one of my favorite contemporary authors after reading Embassytown, I've been really impressed with his books, highly recommend. I read almost 60 books in 2025 (Blindsight was one) and Embassytown is my favorite of the year. I started using the library system instead of buying books and of the 60 books I bought two knowing I must reread in the near future; Embassytown and Lord of Light (also blew my mind especially being almost 60 years old).

  • +1 for Blindsight!!

On a different note, have u read Embassytown_ where communication/words are drugs? Great book that blew my mind, still haunts me.

  • I’ve been on dating apps the last few years and while I always swipe left for Conservative, I also say fuck no to anyone Apolitical.

In these times anyone who supports or is ambivalent to the madness in our country is a shit person that I want nothing to do with.

Take a stand, pick a side or fuck right off.
