  • There are some places in the more touristy parts of Havana Cuba that accept crypto as payment.

In general crypto is only going to be adopted in situations where there aren't more convenient alternatives. Because of the embargo you cant use American bank cards to make purchases in Cuba. People are always going to use whatever is most convenient. In most cases that's not going to be crypto. It's the legal barriers that prevent using a normal credit card that create the situation where people would use crypto.

  • This post has clearly brought up a lot of interesting discussion. I just want to add my thoughts...

I never thought of myself as someone who would benefit from male-only spaces as I tend to not like men, but in my mid 20s I started going to bars and clubs oriented towards gay men because I was exploring my sexuality.

I found that often these places have a strong sense of community and camaraderie that I have grown to see as quite sacred. Part of this sense of community is rooted in a shared experience of our gender identity and sexual identity.

Sometimes having women in these spaces could ruin the vibe and sometimes having women in these spaces had no negative effect or was even positive. It really depends on the attitude of women coming into those spaces. Are they there to gawk? Are they there to seek community?

If you made a blanket rule banning women I think it would be very detrimental. For example there are trans men who havent come to terms with this yet, and cutting them out of a space like this is bad.

It would also be disingenuous to claim only women were the ones ruining the vibe. Some men are creeps, controlling, judgmental etc.

To me the important thing isn't that we ban non-men from entering into the space and say it's a men-only place. That excludes people who would be good to have there and doesn't guarantee you remove all of the bad people from coming. But I do think it's important to have spaces that we say are for men. This is a place for men that caters to men and if are not a man don't expect it to cater to your needs.

It's like if you have a Mexican restaurant in the United States oriented towards serving Mexican customers. You can go there even there even if you're not Mexican, but it's disrespectful to get angry if people don't speak English well.

There are always both men and women, who, upon finding out that a space exists that isn't for them decide to try and enter those spaces out of protest. I think in most cases it's probably best to let these people in. Either they will acclimate to the culture or they will get bored and stop going eventually. I know that this will make the space less safe or comfortable feeling for some people, but there's literally no way to have community without also having people be part of that community that are sometimes unsafe or uncomfortable to have around.

  • Hi! I made this video. Thank you for your comment. I am curious if you are someone who has engaged with/participated in kink yourself? If so I would be curious to know what that looks like for you.

  • I have a friend who has quit porn entirely because he has felt addicted to it in the past and the only way he feels he can quit is to quit cold-turkey. I think it's possible to have an unhealthy relationship to porn and to develop a more healthy relationship to it without quitting entirely; he feels like that's not possible for him. Do you feel like it's possible for you to have a healthy relationship to porn at all?

I also wonder if pornography use is something you talk to your friends about at all. It's something that for many years was almost impossible for me to talk about because I felt so much shame around it. Do you relate to that?

  • shit - adjective, bad

    the shit - noun, good

    .

you are shit - shit is an adjective, you are bad

you ain't shit - shit still functions as an adjective, in some contexts this might be a good thing, but the phrase "you ain't ____" most often is used to say the person doesn't reach the level of the blank. For example "you ain't all that" means you think/act like you are "all that" but you're not at the level of "all that" you're less than all that. If you "ain't shit" it means you're so bad that you're less than shit, you dont even reach the level of shit with how bad you are. This is a devestating insult.

you are not the shit - the shit is a noun, its good, so not being the shit is insulting

you are the shit - the shit is a noun meaning good so this is a complement

  • Gotcha. I didn't catch the sarcasm first time around but it makes total sense now

  • Idk, compaired to USA they have free healthcare, legal abortion and:

    • Lower homicide rate
    • Lower suicide rate
    • Lower infant mortality rate
    • Lower covid deaths per capita
    • Higher representation of women in government
    • Higher literacy rate
    • Less air pollution
    • Less car related deaths
    • Roughly equal life expectancy

IDK if that says more about cuba being good or the US being bad 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷

  • Who's "we"? Surely you don't mean the USA?

  • How much are you charging?

  • I'm guessing people are reading the title and assume im defending men who think this instead of being critical of them 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤷

I've figured out a way to make passive money that is both ethical and has been granting me ~$10 a day for years.

  • I doubt AI ever could destroy the porn industry as porn depicting something real is part of the appeal to some of us. There's also been so many issues with AI being used to generate deep fakes of people which is humiliating and cruel. Whatever benefit AI will bring to porn feels a bit outweighed by the drawbacks at this time IMHO
