  • Oh, Sans is smarter than that; he'd say how you can't refund because you've already played for way more than 2 hours to get this far. If anything, he would mention your actual playtime statistic in his dialogue.

  • Huh? That's... still YouTube, just curated. We thought you had meant an entirely non-Google video platform; leaving YT completely is the goal. All I can think of is PeerTube, or the paid service Nebula.

By the way, ads are easy to defeat: use any Firefox-based browser (like Firefox or Waterfox) with AdNauseam, or NewPipe on Android. You don't need FreeTube for that (although I do also try to remember to use FreeTube anyway, haha).

  • Yes, that's the second half of the quoted portion. What about the first? The point is that it's all bad and not any better than acid rain.

  • PFAS ≠ microplastics! PFAS is potentially worse and can clog up your body for the duration of its lifespan, hence "forever chemicals"... And microplastics have been found in placentas, semen, and the brain and heart... At least acid can get neutralized by a base.

  • I haven't read the article, but just going off the title, if that's accurate: isn't that how it'd be for any game? I'm not defending it but the only platform I've seen devs give Steam keys to players for ownership on has been on itch.io.

People don't suddenly get rewarded cross-platform ownership just because they bought it on one platform. Same with Unrailed, had it come out on Switch first and Steam later, etc.; they must re-buy if they want it on Steam. Same with Slay the Spire: existing Steam owners don't suddenly gain Android access just because it released on Droid, etc.

  • Ew, who still uses Google Search?

  • Sounds like a video game's name.

  • Good reminder about certain practices that I can influence the security of...

  • I think the point is that it evaporates and may return as rain, which is overwhelmingly acid rain or filled with microplastics or otherwise just gets dirty and needs to be cleaned or purified again.

  • Basically every tech company is using it... It's millions of people, not just us...

  • Wouldn't clocking out be relief?

  • Ha, okay, it went through here... hmm... I didn't have an unstable Internet connection last time, though...

  • Interesting, thanks, so New Balance 9060 + Aetrex insoles; I may follow suit myself! By the way, you dropped this: \ (to properly type out that emoticon in markdown, you must use \\\ instead of \, since one alone will act as an "escape character" instead of a literal character to be printed).

  • Oh, yes, thanks!

  • Wait, that's why she wears them? I guess I'm not far along enough in the show to have seen that explanation...

  • The *norm, you mean? And yes, I know... I'm saying some of us Prius owners (the proper ones who care about economy) are defying that, much to the annoyance of the impatient.

  • what are normal people such that they are not like the friends I've had??

It does not matter if you have OCD or not; these people seem to consistently not care about your suggestions. If I tell my friends, "I really wanna play Space Base," then we make it happen.

These people sound like the type who would not check up on you if you just suddenly stopped responding, and those are not friends. I would try to make new friends elsewhere... Sorry!

  • the first thing to work on is your endurance.

Incorrect: the very first thing to investigate is the shoes that @danhab99@programming.dev wears. Correct footwear is a game-changer in one's ability to stay on one's feet for hours. 40 min doesn't sound like just a standing issue, but rather that his insoles may not be contouring where his feet actually apply pressure. Some stores make custom insoles just for this purpose. There are also numerous shoe brands out there that look good but feel bad to wear. I would ask what brand of shoes he's wearing.

  • All right, someone affix this to a vaporwave album!
