  • I gave several gos at previous levels and got some optimal! No worries, but thanks; I've beaten FTL on Hard, maybe 10% of the time lol. I just hadn't spent enough time on it before commenting. This game is really neat and I love how it crowdsources ideas.

  • Unfortunately, there have been lots of reviews of how ironically manual its regressive design is instead of being progressive in teaching new concepts... So I think I'm gonna pass on this one. It sure looks gorgeous, though!

  • This game is so hard. At least it shows what the optimal arrangement is.

  • Fair, I was unaware of the water issue going on there. It sounds like this crisis isn't resolving any time soon...

  • Is there an ELI5, foolproof, step-by-step tutorial? I tried Kleopatra on my own and was so completely befuddled; why is that, like, literally the only app out there in the whole world for PGP or GPG or whatever? Shouldn't there be dozens of such encoders?

  • For the bad actor to toggle that "switch", they would have to control the app.

Are you talking about physical control? Regardless, it's closed-source... There is nothing that says they can't also generate the keys on the other end that they had your devices generate. Outside of open source code that's buildable from source, they can claim whatever they want about lack of access to switches.

  • Those are actually downsides to me; I want to see the name per window and have full control. Unless I'm constantly using the same specific pair frequently, this would only mess up my workflow more.

not having to adjust the borders manually.

Surely you know about Win+/Super+Arrow, right?

  • Firefox @lemmy.world

My Android browser has an add-on that is no longer accessible online. Can it be exported?

  • I am so, so, so, so sorry on behalf of humanity in terms of everyone who has treated you like this. You didn't deserve that. I am angry at myself already since I know I would be among them. It is so hard to change the shallowness, but we'll try.

  • Eco advocates should all be for nuclear power, which is one of the cleanest forms around...

  • Or even just turn to the floor if it comes down to it...

  • Don't worry; we Lemmy denizens all hate the outdoors here!

  • Fascinating, I didn't know that that's the reason... Would you happen to have any data on how long this diffusion process takes?

  • Sweet, go Netherlands! And I also wanna move my desktop to NixOS! Got any tips or warnings for a first-timer who's mostly used just Mint?

  • Mental Health @lemmy.world

Comment here if you wanna be a mod (and why)

  • lol, oops. Nice catch... Well, I guess I can hold onto my guide for anyone in the future...

  • That's it: Nio! Yeah, I dislike the reliability on the company, too.

  • There actually was a Chinese EV startup that had battery swap stations: drive up onto the system, and the battery is directly under your car; the swap takes <1 minute. I don't remember what it was called, though, nor if it ever made it.

    Update: it's Nio.

  • This app

Huh? That's all why we're here across the Lemmyverse, no? We are already smarter than the average person over privacy concerns, sure, but that doesn't make them "dumb." I think it's really unfair to look down on the average citizen versus highly specialized, predatory algos and deceptive services. Or do you think you're scam-proof and everyone who is less has only themselves to blame? I once thought I was, yet have had some near-wakeup calls.

  • Indeed: electric vehicle batteries are lasting even longer than estimated. All the constant breaks from use that the batteries get has been interestingly improving their durability (which makes me think that shutting off our phones for 1 whole day per week or even month could improve their lifespan, even for the 40-80% lithium-ion boundary keepers).

  • Users know the app is abusive

If this was the case, there would have been no shock, though. Have you thought at all, "Huh, yeah, Niantic is clever but also messed up to do this," with Pokémon Go being an AI-training data collector? Why focus only on the hurt, dumb users and ignore the higher body in power?

You know what? What about, "It didn't have to abuse in the first place?" Otherwise you're sounding awfully comfy with capitalism...
