  • Carroll said investigators believed the suspect was armed with a shotgun, a handgun and knives. He also said the suspect was believed to have been a guest at the hotel.

It amazes me that there has been four (I think?) close-ish attempts on this man's life in the last decade, three in the last two years, and things like this still get through.

  • That is weird. Here is how it looks on my end

  • Yes. Long press a username and it'll bring up a menu that allows you to create a tag

  • Nerve damage, or in my case a combination of neuropathy and carpal tunnel. Most of the itching has gone away since I had carpal tunnel release surgery.

  • I think so, too. This is why it's important to talk about non-combat PTSD. So more people get the help they need, and there's less stigma around it.

My first word has been doing work lately xD

  • I did mean it in the dragon context, haven't had my coffee yet xD Thank you for the correction

  • The article is confusing because it paints him as a "highly respected" ethical hunter and conservationist that hunts under culling licenses, but goes on to say the duiker he was hunting is rare and elusive. Wikipedia lists it as near threatened.

Man had a horde hoard of animal trophies too, so it seems like he just found a loophole to killing and collecting animals in a 'respectable' way

    Edit: pre-coffee typo :)

  • I'm a Navy veteran with service connected PTSD. People question if I have PTSD sometimes and it does indeed piss me off, but I'm not out here claiming to have been blown up while serving. People are starting to become aware that PTSD doesn't always stem from combat, and that awareness will help more people going forward. Mine comes from being attacked and raped by my shipmates, I didn't expect to survive it.

I don't feel disgust that USA Today asked him about his service, instead I wonder why he didn't have a better response. He could have offered education about PTSD or said he wanted to increase transparency around disability ratings in the VA, or any number of things.

  • Honestly, I love the simplicity and elegance of the jumpsuit. I'd maybe carry a small clutch matching the shoes, but any jewelery would be minimal

  • True, although you'd start the t from the edge of the vertical line of the w rather than the ground line. I actually couldn't see the confusion until you pointed this out

  • Fwiw I know a lot of my personal cursive quirks I have picked up from online script fonts. You could try looking through sites like 1001fonts, filtering by script font, and seeing if you notice any details that make letters unique that also seem doable with wire.

  • I learned well over 30 years ago, but after looking through a few sets this site matches the lettering I was taught.

Mind you, I don't think many people will recognize that Q for what it is anymore, my name includes a capital Q and I always write it in block and start the cursive from the squiggle. (I was taught the Q as it is in that practice set though)

  • I agree that it's readable as Courtney. I don't think this would necessarily be easy, but you could try pinching the left side of the R like this:
