  • OP is still running 5 containers though? And why does a home server need to implement an IT security standard meant for large organisations? I hope you got an incident response policy written down, would be a shame to fail the next audit.

  • I don't particularly know much about this specific topic but, it would be trivial for them to read what's seen in the app. The encrypted part is only during transfer of a message, your app is still decrypting it to plain texts, and meta can just read the message at that point.

  • Hm. I wonder if still will become a problem in the future if we get more Linux native games. We shit on Windows for not playing old games when wine can, but if a game stops functioning moving from x11 to Wayland (or some other dependency) will there be people there to care enough to fix it? Although I would assume it would be an easier fix for Linux than Windows for when it does.

  • Are you sure you actually laid off the cocaine? 😅

  • Loan interests and money I disagree with. Unless we get to a point where everything is in abundance and commerce isn't needed anymore I feel like a common item we can agree the value of for goods and services is a pretty neat idea.

Similarly I don't think interest is inherently evil. If i lend you money to buy something large that will take years to pay off, I wouldn't want to lose a bunch of money with inflation. But predatory rates that bet on you defaulting can burn in hell. It's disgusting that the whole fintech industry exists purely to maximise interest and debt at the cost of those who depends on those services the most.

  • I thought the whole fascist pepe was like a month long spout years ago that Fox News of all things made a big deal out of. Is Pepe used by any fascist movement today? I think in most internet circles he's back to his beloved self?

  • You should absolutely be able to see the stars when out in the middle of nowhere. I can still see them in a moderate sized town in the UK.

  • Been a long time since I've been on the dating scene, I have no clue how dating apps or blind dates work. But I think the best way to meet someone is through making friends attending uni classes, clubs (archery/painting kind), public table top nights and the like. Having someone who can vouch for you or straight up sharing an interest with someone you fancy takes down some of the initial barriers.

  • Something something 1989.

  • That's what I've always thought as well. The picture is clearly taken in a bright room and the exposure turned too high.

  • I absolutely love this method. Whenever you're screwing anything (unless it's reverse threaded ofc), just point your thumb in the direction you want it to go and twist it in the direction or your fingers. Really helps when you're all turned around like lying on your back under the kitchen sink and need to tighten a nut.

  • Hadn't heard that one. It's okay i guess. But there's plenty more like it in Silver Side Up and The Long Road. Their transition really is peak sellout.

  • Your name is purple! Witch!

  • Because robot scam callers have never been a thing.

  • Why would anyone have made a non-animated Avatar movie? I'm sure you just had a bad dream.

  • Now I used to like RWJ, but it did become a bit cringe and corporate over the years, so I'm genuinely surprise how watchable that video was.

  • Not sure if you dropped the /s, but that's not what cash means in this context. Cash is usually refers to money that's readily available to be spent at a moments notice. Be it in a bank or paper in your hand.

  • I was (and still is) a Battlefield 2. I found battlefield 3 an alright sequel, though I wish they hadn't bullshitted with the whole "the game is too complex now for map and mod tools". But it is unreasonable how much fun Bad Company 2 was. I was one of the early haters of it because they took away prone and the faster paced gameplay. But boy did my opinion on it changed. Even my brother who rarely plays shooters sat and grinded out weapons on it. I know even DICE are questioning why it was such a success.

  • I feel like that should be quite easy to verify with wireshark.
