  • This video is a good starting point. If you're already running proxmox you're definitely ready. 👍

  • You're gonna carry that weight..

  • I wouldn't be surprised if there is more that one sockpuppet to be quite honest, they just cannot grow tf up.

  • Considering I've had my own posts deleted during the last round of admin meltdowns here on the fediverse I have seen all I need to of GOS's leadership antics, thank you very much.

  • I've not seen this though GrapheneOS has repeatedly belittled /e/os. As others in this thread have noted the propensity to repeatedly attack other projects is the biggest failing of GOS. As a user it does little more than leave me funding PostmarketOS while biding time for a proper linux solution.

  • Very cool, I will absolutely give this a look, thanks!

  • That's a strange way to say that you just made everything up in your previous post.

  • Ah, a Candace Owens for the other side of the pond.

  • Cocksure. Look it up.

  • Almost the same story here, I ran nixOS on my laptop and was over my head instantly, but kept treading water for almost a year before I got tired of the quirks and went back to arch. Much as on desktop; it just works and works well.Since bouncing off I've found myself using the nix package manager for my Steam Deck, allowing it to serve as the "laptop" now. It just so happens that Valve recently added a persistent /nix folder to steamOS and so I'm declaratively back at it again. Thankfully the syntax is now starting to stick.

  • Ah, my bad. That video felt sketchy af during my morning scroll, thanks for the correction.

  • Running an unofficial image of grapheneos sounds like a wonderful way to get your device hacked without having to wait for a nefarious actor to do the work manually. Buy a used Pixel and do it right.

  • screen_off = "qdbus org.kde.kglobalaccel /component/org_kde_powerdevil invokeShortcut 'Turn Off Screen'" I use this on deck and the following on desktop where the monitors automatically shut off: "kscreen-doctor output.DP-2.disable" hope it helps!

  • You're probably right and this is the first time I've felt kind of glad for the "speed bump" that picking a server on the fediverse has become. We'll get another influx before too long; maybe a "you need to be this clever to ride the ride" checkpoint isn't such a bad thing.

  • Commented elsewhere in this thread with details on persistence in steamos if you're interested. glhf!

  • FYI, there is now an overlay for /etc that stores changes in /var and files can also be noted as persistent in /etc/atomic-update.conf.d.Valve has also added a persistent /nix folder for declarative package management if you're into that kind of thing, it has been glorious in my little world.

  • The problem is it isn't Telegram, Whatsapp, or some other insecure platform that nefarious actors would rather privacy minded individuals use.

  • Were you to be so lucky.
