  • Or if you use Steam Link. Still borked in Wayland

  • I don't undestand this comment, could you please elaborate?

The way I way I see it, privacy without anonymity only works if you can trust a service provider. Since there are no trustworthy providers, especially since legislation can cancel any assurances anyone could give you, anonymity becomes the only way to ensure privacy, making it virtually synonymous.

  • I do use steam so please don't misunderstand this as bashing, but you don't own anything on steam either. You rent it for life and access can legally be withdrawn if you act against the TOS. If you're looking to buy games GOG is the only real option I know of.

  • Ya, and the added value of OP writing that thought down is absolutely non existant

  • Like @merde@sh.itjust.works said, several accounts for a tech illiterate person is counter productive. Unsubscribe what you can unsubscribe and then filter rules on thunderbird like you proposed. That's how I do it with my elderly parents.

  • Didn't Stargate have a show inside the show called Wormhole Extreme or something like that? And Peter DeLuise who directed Stargate was the director on the fake show as well.

  • Didn't know the eMule network was still a thing

  • From the vids it looks like a carbon copy of warframe. Might as well stick with the more mature product with a record of acceptable community interaction.

  • That is normally considered an insult to the chef or you are pegged as a neanderthal diner.

We go to very different nice restaurants

  • Not wanting to use apps that are profiling you and your devices isn't a high level of privacy or being extreme though. It's just being a normal person.

  • Tell me money is not an issue for you without telling me money is not an issue for you.

My wishlist is a 'remind me to check for sales' list. I don't care if a game is 20 years old, it's still a good game. I just care that I cannot afford 70$ for it. The larger the list, the better the chance to find deals.

  • Automated updates are nice

  • That's the devious part. It's just mass layoffs without the severance packages.

  • I apologize for the unrelated question, but does anyone know why some headlines are so scared to use the word 'and'? The comma is so out of place and makes it unecessarly hard to read

  • Yup. Wouldn't be too surprised if people will think of ways to make them more identifiable in the near future. Something like bright yellow stars. For security of course, nothing devious...

  • While I agree with you, EU is currently expected to enforce client side scanning on all devices in the EU, basically outlawing e2ee. Where the fuck are we supposed to live that isn't a fascist hellhole?

  • Same here. It's not because the trilogy before was a 9/10, that Andromeda was garbo just because it was a 7 or 8/10

  • The hate on telegram is easy to explain. The server is closed source and you need to give them your phone number. Yes it's better than whatsapp. But it's worse than matrix or xmpp.

  • Nothing absolutely needed, it's just a convenience factor. For example you can program them to turn on when your phone connects to the wifi, which will probably be a couple meters from your home. So the light is already on when you get home. Or you can program them to turn on and off at certain hours when you're off vacationing to simulate a presence.
