  • I tried adding cardamom to my french press brew yesterday (inspired by coffee cardamom craft beer) and it was amazing.

  • Yeah...I had a bad slip when climbing down stairs. Almost hit my head. I got out with a bruised arm that saved me. I'm fine, just a bit shaken!

  • Yeah I had a thing for stamped kits. That's how I got into the hobby in the first place. Nowadays I prefer the traditional method but this felt like a cheap treat so I got it on impulse!

  • I saw it after you mentioned it. When something like this happens to me I usually frog it 🐸. I just can't unsee it and it annoys me, ruining the experience. If that isn't you, leave it be. Otherwise, go with your gut and your inner 🐸. Also make sure you get the same batch of black if this skein isn't enough.

  • I am taking a week off the Greenhouse. Nevertheless I finished the corpse flower!

Also I have a new WIP - a kit that I got from a Babushka in Sofia for like 5€. It's made of polyester and is surprisingly nice to work with.

  • Wait how is that pronounced? I've always read it as Mah-Ca-Burr. It's one of these words I learned through text exposure rather than English classes...

  • I use irc for the more obscure books. It's a bit more annoying but once you get the hang of it, it's easy.

  • Not sure how that happened but may it rest in floss, and let it find the softest fabrics in the needle afterlife.

  • In neighbouring Bulgaria we also have migrant hunters, Dinko from Yambol is the most infamous one. If he's the one to set an example, my bet would be that it's them who set the forests on fire before things got out of control. Migrants are an easy scapegoat.

  • Ohh that looks cosy! Not a knitter myself but I also started my autumn crochet projects.

  • Oh no! Colds are the worst! I hope you feel better soon. The sunset has some Outrun aesthetic vibes. I really like it!

What count fabric is your greenhouse on?

I meant to get 18 count but 16 was what they had in stock with the colour I liked so 16 it is. I'm glad I picked it because it feels so nice to work with, the grid also helped me immensely. As for finishing, I think I'll go with an ornate Victorian-style frame. It really depends on what I find and how much they're going to charge me. My local store works frames for dirt cheap so they're the first place to ask.

  • I finished yet another page from the Greenhouse of oddities, marking the right side of the greenhouse, filled with mostly nightshades, complete. The next page is the unfinished (stinky) flower in the middle. It's going to be a quick one as it has about 250 stitches left.

  • This is really sad and disgusting. It affects the whole platform but especially smaller instances that can't keep up. Despite being a lemm.ee user, I was particularly upset about thegarden.land shutting down because of that spam. It had my favourite gardening community on here.

I really hope this gets sorted out, and the spammers end up where they belong.

  • I asked because my Elizabeth turned out to be a boy so he ended up being Lizzie... And that stuck because he already learned his name and we didn't want to change it... 😅

  • Last time I was down with the Plague™, I was in bed, chugging jugs of thyme tea (helps a lot with wet cough), and taking ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine for the fever and stuffy nose. Also I watched the entire history of the Earth documentary series while sorting out my mystery embroidery floss. That helped a lot to keep me busy. Sleeping is good but I feel like I lose track of time and that triggers my depression. But I usually recommend it a lot to my patients.

  • My cat is also called Lizzie. Where did the name come from?

  • Welcome back! I hope the cruise went well. I really like how the whale turned out 🐳

    Too frugal?

Never! I take pride in doing good work with what I have lying around instead of buying new and expensive stuff... Although I sometimes get lazy and hop to the store 😅

  • I mean...I was like that when we first adopted our cat. Then we learned about respecting personal space and whaddya know, I haven't been scratched in months (Last time was me trying to remove a small piece of thread from his mouth, to prevent him from eating it. He ate it anyway with no consequences and gave me a gash that left a scar.)
