  • Some brands seem to make it crunchy. I just eat that like cereal with soy milk or yogurt. I made the mistake of buying cheap muesly from the local convenience store and it was exactly how you described it. It was the "let sit overnight" type. Except it had cornflakes in it that would get soggy and fall apart.

I forced myself to eat most of it, the rest went to my local murder of crows who picked at the dried fruit and cornflakes and left the oats to the pigeons to deal with. I guess I wasn't the only one who didn't like them.

As for the crunchiness, maybe try making it into granola in the oven? Not sure if that would work but it's worth a shot.

  • You have a pussy

    I have a dick

    So what's the problem

    Let's do it quick

Ausländer is good too. Maybe some Mann gegen Mann part if you're looking for a boyfriend (assuming you're male).

Why would anyone even put a Rammstein stanza on their tinder? It's edgy and rather cringy in my opinion for both initiated and uninitiated.

  • Interesting read. While gardening isn't my passion (yet?) we're blessed to have enough space for a variety of flowers. We do have plenty of ornamentals that are non-native. The bees do like them but they literally go crazy over the native species. Lavender, rosemary, catmint, rosehip, marshmallow, you name it, the bees love it. It's fun looking at how many different species of bees and other insects visit them. We're slowly going for planting more native species in our yard and making a wildflower garden just for them.

  • Half of the people I regularly talk to are on WhatsApp. I don't like it but that's reality, it's hard to get them to migrate because this means that people THEY talk to would have to do the same. Also a good chunk of them use rakuten Viber. Now why do they use THAT? It's bloated, ad-ridden, and buggy. Almost nobody I know is on telegram. In fact most are still using Facebook messenger.

  • Sometimes it's better to just let go and start over. Definitely a good call! I love how it's going!

Do you plan on doing the whole tarot set or just this one?

  • My mobile plan. The standard is signing for 24 months. I can't really choose a plan that suits me, they stick virtually unlimited calls (which I barely use), and add mobile data that I can't use up either. Settling for less barely reduces my bill if at all for whatever reason. On top of this, despite me signing for a set fixed amount to pay, they decide to "index" an extra 10-15% every year due to "unforseen circumstances" like inflation. And every time I sign a new contract I get an extra 10% on top of my bill for the same features I don't use. Oh and they add a "happy call" where the call signal sounds like a piercing annoying very low quality melody, despite me denying the service. Switching to another telecom doesn't really remedy the problem, the other two on the market here seem worse than mine in every respect.

Looking at the prepaid features, we're looking at a 40-50% reduction in monthly fees, just paying for what I use, whenever I want to use it. It's needlessly annoying switching from a subscription to a prepaid plan. You'd have to switch telecoms for a month and switch back to the one you like the most if you want to keep your number.

So yeah, as soon as my contract expires, I'm done with renewing. I'm sick of this.

  • This is so lovely! Look at all the details 💕

  • I'm a "mild" case of BP2, unsure of the exact diagnosis as doctors here just slap bipolar and specify the episode. It might be cyclothymia, I don't really care anymore but it doesn't matter because it seems under control. I'll spare the details but my psychiatrist gave me the freedom to play with the dosage of my meds. It's a special case.

That said, the first time I was diagnosed with depression and put on a common AP/Antidepressant combo for my country (it's terrible but the AP alone actually worked for me after re-evaluation). I decided I was better and stopped them cold turkey. I've never cried so hard in my life. After that I learned my lesson and took my meds. I try to take as little meds as possible to maintain my mood, as sometimes meds themselves can be the culprit.

If you have meds that work well, how could you tell?

I can think straight, sleep well, feel emotion without it being blunted, and live my life normally. It's a fine line to walk and it took a lot of trial and error. Flupentixol worked but it tended to exacerbate my mania shortly after stabilizing me. Pregabalin shoots me into mania the next day, SSRIs do that too. Carbamazepine almost worked without side effects but only for a short while. I might give it a try again but I don't like how it messed with my liver. Aripiprazole gave me all the side effects at once. See the pattern? Trial and error. **I've had most of the above for at least 1-2 months before deciding they don't work with regular psychiatrist visits. **

Currently low dose quetiapine handled my hypomania (mostly poor sleep, irritability, and hyperfocus on interests). That came after a six month depressive episode is which got taken care of by Trazodone, and interestingly enough, did not trigger mania.

  • Ohh this looks amazing, keep us posted!

  • You mean titles are meant to be read? Whoops!

    Terminator-2.

  • I remember the info campaign of my country's change of currency when it got pegged to the Deutschmark after it did a Venezimbabwe. It was by a popular children's/teen tv show host.

I was about 2 or 3 but the only thing I remember is the news anchors repeating the word "Chechen" all the time. I understood nothing but it sounded funny.

We had a stereo with an inbuilt vinyl record player, as well as cassette tape player.

I played NES games on Terminator-2. Post-soviet collapse flooded the market with knockoffs which were decent for the price.

I remember watching Bill Clinton's scandal on the news though I had little idea what happened, nor what impeachment meant.

  • This is exactly what I'm doing right now. I play a game that I can play for 2 hours daily max and it's fine, I can do without it easily. I also fell into the OW2 trap and I became unbearable to the people around me.

I feel like I didn't word myself properly because I haven't played WoW or any of the "problematic" games for 6 months now. I managed to keep myself occupied with cross stitching and books. It's when I see footage/hear music that I get these feelings of wanting to play again.

  • I actually agree with you but the mental health communities on Lemmy haven't caught up yet, and I figured one could find more people here that could relate.

  • You should appreciate your work more. I would call this anything but atrocious! It's beautiful, keep working on it!

  • I'm currently reading Twilight and judging by the tone it's normal for 16-17 year olds to go to school by car (or even truck!) that they drive by themselves? I might be ignorant on the subject so correct me if I'm wrong but car culture in general. We just...took the bus or the lucky ones with a free parent got a lift. I've even walked to school for the fun of it, granted it was 40 minutes by foot.

I'm nearing my 30s. I don't own a car and I don't have a license. I do wish I had one sometimes but once I hop on the bus to the remote place I want to visit, I quickly lose interest once I see the (usually mountainous) road ahead. Driving just scares me.

  • We have a distant relative who lives in Canada whose partner is from an island that got devastated by an eruption like this. Canada issued lax rules for settlement and citizenship for the refugees but I can't for the life of me find which island it was.

Was the island Montserrat or another one? I don't really personally know them so I can't just go ahead and ask.

  • I barely understand French but from what I gathered, no, you don't need much to get started. All you need is an embroidery needle or a set of them. I use size 24 for cross-stitch. You'll also need scissors, which I assume you have at home. Any will do at first. You don't need hoops or anything fancy. If you're working with a kit (more expensive) it has everything you need for the project.

If you decide to self-gather the set, you'll need a pattern, I usually buy from Etsy but there are tons of free beginner patterns; fabric as suggested by the pattern, and embroidery floss in the colours given by the pattern, usually indicated by DMC numbers. DMC is on the pricier side but you can find equivalent thread colours by other, cheaper brands as well (we have Puppets and Ariadna which are about half to a third of the price Dmc asks for).

Last but not least, you need patience. Start small, see if you like it. Don't be upset if a project takes too long. I'm working on mine for about 4 months now and I'll take another 1 or 2 to finish it and that's a medium-sized one.

  • The espresso machine won't solve your problem. Get a cezve, something sweet, and enter the wonderful world of Turkish coffee. Make sure to look up recipes. Try not to overdose, these shots are strong!

P.s. you can also do it in a stovetop pot like this, they might be more widely available or check your local Turkish/eastern shop for the cezve. They aren't expensive usually.

  • Blade grinders make for really inconsistent distribution. I had the same problem with a very similar espresso machine and ended up throwing it in the garage and moved on to pour over after upgrading my grinder.

It made a whole world of difference once I moved from my Lidl blade grinder to a porlex mini (wouldn't recommend for espresso). Then another world after upgrading to a 1zpresso JX (cost me about 140$ plus shipping). Other people might know better but 1zpresso also have a budget grinder that might fit your budget...

Another thing I'd recommend is buying pre-ground coffee and seeing if that works for you.

And to piggyback this post with my own related question, would I be able to brew a good cup of coffee with the machine OP posted when using coffee, ground with my JX? I don't really have much counter space for an espresso machine but I was curious...
