I think this is going to be my main.

  • My first stepping stone was when nobody in my group wanted to ask for napkins when we were out eating. Which is silly, so I stepped up and ask for it because my mouth and fingers are messy. Ok the other thing is we were in a foreign country and our mastery of the language wasn't great and everyone was shy.

    That's when I realize that random people thinking of me like some kind of weirdo doesn't matter because it's almost guaranteed I will never meet them again.

    If I need to integrate with a group sooner or later, that's when I lurk and just sit in with a few people, listen and add in anything

    I realize that last part is hard for a lot of people and I really don't have anything I can offer how to overcome the awkward feeling but I believe you can do it.

  • I agree. Music is as diverse as people. It's a good thing that sometimes I can use music to relax, and sometimes it gets me to looking into myself for some introspective. It lets me process my emotions, problems, and try to come out with a solution or just for cope.

  • As someone that has English as second language, but Japanese not as my third, I like how grok AI translation works. Although confirming it with English speaking Japanese acquaintance they say while it is generally slightly better than google translate or deepL it is still wrong in a few ways often enough.

    I say grok because there's still a lot of Japanese artists (singing and drawing) and vtubers that still use twitter. It annoys me greatly but I understand why they still stay on Twitter for the audience, but especially for the drawing artists I don't fully understand (or refuse to accept), twitter has repeatedly say they WILL steal their artwork to train grok.

    If they jumped ship to misskey or something with a big Japanese audience on fediverse, I'd make it my mission to understand the micro blogging section of the fediverse lol

    I'm more of a topic follower rather than people follower on fediverse so Lemmy, piefed, mbin is still my preferred home

  • From what I can see in both subreddits, it's mostly buggy and failed patching as far as I can see for those sticking with revanced.

    I'm unsure on vulnerabilities but if the recommended app version is old enough or not working on bypassing using newer versions, I'm sure is not good.

    Also I forgot to mention this previously but in revanced aubreddit the mention of morphe is a subreddit bannable offence. At least that's what the morphe fans are saying. Personally the ones egging on revanced is childish but I can and can't properly vouch.

    A bit of my history of how I knew all these

    I started to use URV (I think that stands for universal revanced) because that took base revanced manager and added ways to easily use different patch repos. Back then it's because I was still patching xitter app. So I already wasn't using the revanced manager for a few weeks but still use their repo on that URV.

    Then I saw a weird post in revanced sub about some dev tiff. A month from that post I somehow got to see a morphe post in the revanced sub so I tried morphe and stuck around a bit in morphe's sub. That's how I know what happened so I decided to trust the morphe guys.

    Technical wise I just have no idea how differing they are. I just stick with the results I personally get.

  • Don't use revanced. The backbone of the dev team moved to morphs now, and so do other modders that used to dev using revanced.

    There was a bunch of drama that's worthy for Lemmy but stuck in reddit that I don't care to bring here.

    It got easier to patch things in some ways, but having known how to do it "the complex way" with vanced and revanced before I feel like some is lost in translation.

    But overall it's a lot better with morphe, the patches against megacorps efforts to block access comes quicker than revanced, and the YouTube minimum app requirement now moved up

  • I t4ied only Interstellar and settled on Summit. Back when piefed social was new I got on board fairly early and interstellar IIRC was one of the first to have piefed support. Then summit came with the support and I never left since. Sorry Interstellar, Summit just have the UX I prefer back when I used Sync for reddit. Sync for lemmy didn't have piefed support back then.
