  • I’m excited for you. I want to hear how it goes.

  • I don’t know how relevant it will be, but this was from Bondtech when they announced the founders kit.

  • There was discussion about this on “the other site*” when the founder’s kits were released. The basic answer ended up being something like “since the nozzles heads are dumb, you’re still getting the same amount of smart (more expensive) components so there isn’t a lot of cost to save”.

*- I still lurk a few communities, but don’t interact. Fuck Spez.

  • They address that in the FAQ at the bottom. It’s coming, the smaller one was just ready 1st (or they tried to split the traffic spike to the site too possibly).

  • Same, am I still going to buy one after others have been the guinea pigs to work out bugs? Yes, but that’s still a chunk of change.

I think I saw that the add-on nozzles end up being on the cheaper end though. Not sure what my plans are for those yet.

  • That’s my thought too. The Vision Pro is more Newton than anything it’s compared to today. I’m sure that there will be echoes of it in some piece of tech in the next 10-15 years, but it’s not the right device for the right time right now for most people.

  • We’ve got some big projects happening with work that are all coming due at the same time, so I haven’t been doing much reading. I am listening in small bursts to This Inevitable Ruin (Dungeon Crawler Carl) to prep for the book release in May and getting ready for Bingo to start back up on May 1st.

I hope people will be able to join us again! If you have questions, please feel free to ask.

  • First, I fully support the, “not all books are for all people and spend what little time we all have focusing on that which brings you joy in a rewarding sense.

That said, if it is DCC, you’re not seeing the heart or soul in the first couple except in brief instances I think on purpose. You really start getting it in 3 on, because the first 2 are purely survival mode for Carl and Donut. Once you progress deeper in the dungeon, the machinations of the outside universe seeps in a bit more and provides a foil for Carl, et al. to react to and in cases interact with beyond just the next dungeon battle. (Also MD has said it will be 10 books total (9 stories with the last one split in 2 volumes)).

The floors do also seem to be inspired by different types of games.

Floor 1–2: Basic Old School Dungeon Crawl Floor 3: Dungeons and Dragons/RPG Floor 4: Rogue-like Games Floor 5: MMO Game Floor 6: Battle Royal (maybe?) Floor 7: Maze/Puzzle Floor 8: Pokémon/Collectible Card Game Floor 9: Real Time Strategy/Management SIM

  • It’s widely regarded that the first 2.5-3 books in The Dresden Files are the weakest writing. Not bad, but immature writing skill.

The series gets very good and deeply engaging after that, but that’s a close comparison to what you mentioned.

  • UM, ACTUALLY, if we could get some VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE in the PARLOR ROOM to MAKE SOME NOISE, This would be a GAME CHANGER. (Yes, I know that’s his son Sam, but ¯\(ツ)/¯)

  • While this isn’t great, it’s only applicable to talk therapy which I don’t think you can have a significant impact on without running into free speech issues which was the ruling. Any “physical” domain-type therapy is not impacted by this ruling which the headline doesn’t make clear*.

  • I’m just on to book 6 (Eye of the Bedlam Bride) of my Dungeon Crawler Carl Audiobook (re)read before the next book comes out in May.

This is my 1st time through the audiobooks and while I am typically not an audiobook person (I get distracted and lose my place or I can read faster on my own); I am vey much enjoying Jeff Hayes work. I get similar vibes to when I would watch Orphan Black and forget that Tatiana Maslany was 3/4th of the cast alone. It’s almost like listening to a full cast recording.
