  • My previous character was a Dwarf Marine (barbarian, path of the ancestral guardian). He was wielding an anchor as a 2-handed weapon.

He met his fate killing a sub-boss. (that is: a boss that came from the sea floor, the captain of a submersible galleon)

  • In the 2024 rules, rope:

    • weighs just 5lb.,
    • weirdly does not specify a length (so you always have enough??),
    • and is a bit harder to burst (dc20 vs dc17), but you can now use Athletics instead of pure strength

oh, and the fancy Silk rope is no longer in stock.

  • In the version-that-everyone-ignores, werewolves are not resistant, nor immune, to any type of attack or damage.

  • or (Paul) Signac

  • You mean like a System Reference Document?

    it's here

  • Last Thursday, 2 characters hiding: nat 1, nat 1

    😓

  • I had no clue until I remembered this

  • It uses flowchart symbols, but bad.

  • Hokkaido is also a type of ice cream. Apparently available elsewhere, too. The rest of the text is chinese (at least, deepl recognizes it as such)

  • It was not that long ago when Android changed my on screen keyboard to a different layout whenever I was in a different country. Really annoying - I don't suddenly type in Danish when I'm on a business trip to Lyngby (near Copenhagen)

  • "12 countries targeted include" and then lists 11 countries. What has the 12th country done to you? Oh. It's Venezuela.

  • Ttrpg's can definitely be used by therapists (e.g.see https://gametogrow.org/ ) but people in general should not underestimate the skill and training professional therapists bring to the table. Just playing an rpg is not therapy.

  • I get the 21 , but I'm not clear about the 100.

  • I assume you already discussed this with your players – I know that in my main player group just 2 of the 8 are willing to GM regularly, some will do oneshots, but also some freak out by the thought of having to lead a session.

I like the episodic approach, I've been thinking about that for my 2nd group since we only play once per month and it is hard for most to remember story elements that happened two or more sessiona ago (and note taking is hard 🤔).

On the other hand I like having some sort of continuity that might turn into an overarching story later on. Things like recurring NPCs, friendly or villainous. If there is no continuity at all, I fear it might turn uninteresting rather quickly.

But 'monster of the week' is an existing format (there's even a published game by that name)

  • As is Antarctica

  • Gennerelly accepted where ?

  • Phb page 37, on selecting languages, says:

Your character knows at least three languages: Common plus two languages you roll or choose from the Standard Languages table. Knowledge of a language means your character can communicate in it, read it, and write it. Your class and other features might also give you languages.

So your character gets at least three languages and also—so, additionally—what you get from other features like class or background.

  • webp is not fully supported by safari and webview on iOS; they cannot export images as image/webp using the toDataUrl or toBlob from a canvas element

  • Sorry to have bothered you all. Now it works 🤔
