  • That was pretty early when he was still running against Biden. At most, it was a temporary surge. Even if he won off the back of it, there's just no evidence that it was a false flag or anything like that. It's an enormous claim to make with zero evidence. I don't see how it's helpful to believe in that. Why is it hard to believe that the most divisive politician in recent memory has had multiple people try to kill him?

  • Seabert

It's a French show but it's also dubbed in English which is how I saw it. It's about a guy and his pet baby seal and their adventures. Most of it has a pro-environment angle if memory serves. It's a whacky show for kids. Nobody I know has ever heard of it besides my brother.

  • Do y'all actually believe this was a false flag? That's just pure contrarian conspiratorial thinking to me. Trump didn't gain anything from this. He actually looks stupid because the interviewer used the shooter's manifesto to humiliate trump. There have been 3 assassination attempts on Trump iirc and none of them meaningfully changed anything.

IMO, the right's biggest success over the past several years is the attack on truth. Even leftists now believe the established narrative must be wrong. That's not skepticism, that's just tribalistic contrarianism.

  • Is it in a holster? Normally a holster would clip onto the belt or waistband in some way but I don't see anything like that. I think this dude just shoved a gun in his pudge holster.

  • Did one get shot down? I remember one got hit but was able to make it back to a friendly base. They don't have kill switches. That's a myth. The maintenance spare parts are entirely controlled by the US so they could just cut you out of spare parts. With such a maintenance intensive jet, that would ground your fleet quickly with no need for the huge security risk of a killswitch. That's more to your third point though and doesn't have to do with performance.

Overall I think the F35 is a great fighter jet but plenty of countries should reject it purely to maintain greater controll of their own sovereignty. Also, with drones and loyal wingmen, air combat is evolving rapidly. It isn't a great time to heavily invest in the best of the last generation.

  • In what way?

  • I believe a twea is a Twisted Tea

  • After some light research, it seems that tank rounds use electrical primers. So hitting the primer wouldn't fire it. I'm more confused now.

  • Maybe the shell was dropped and landed on the primer.

  • Stoked. My favorite TV by a lot

  • App stores are also monopolies who are abusing their positions. There's been recent/current litigation about exactly that. Those other services are cool but are not just a kind service to gamers. It's to keep the industry on their platform. It's to increase market dominance. They could spin those services off as separate if they wanted but that wouldn't support the market dominance so they won't.

  • Give the bike a test ride and make sure it fits you. The main problem will be if the bike is too big. Too small is better than too big.

The other consideration is condition. You want to make sure the shifting work through all the gears. There's no visible rust. Make sure the drivetrain doesn't squeak or creak. Make sure you can't jiggle the cranks side to side. Make sure the brakes work. Make sure you can adjust the seat height. Seatpost can get seized in the frame sometimes.

If you don't have to worry too much about hills, I recommend a single speed bike. There's no gears to worry about and single speed chains are more robust.

  • Interesting. Idk how you're going to adapt that to film. A big part of the souls experience for me is the cryptic, zero-exposition lore.

  • It would have been intuitive if...

One issue I see with suggestions is that everyone thinks their a designer. What they suggest might even be an improvement for that one small tool but would make the overall experience less intuitive. Overall, I think OSS should cater to their existing users plus a little bit more. Make the experience better for the people who really want to try to use it but eventually give up in frustration. Over time, it will improve and the user base will increase.

  • I'm not saying they for sure will get worse. I'm saying that a market dominance gives them the incentive and ability to do it. In general, we should resist market dominance so that incentive and ability just isn't there to begin with.

  • Valve's cost of hosting is pennies. They're one of the most profitable companies in the US. They could lower that number to 5% and still have plenty of margin, I'd bet.

  • 30%

  • The first step of enshittification is being very pro-user. All of the good will from your users will build you a dominant market position so you can squeeze them later. We should resist any company dominating any market. Just because valve hasn't screwed you over personally doesn't mean we should just lovingly accept market dominance. The more competitive the market, the better.

  • It doesn't have to go public to do that. It can get sold to private equity. The original owner can pass the business to their kid who has grown up privileged and huffs their own farts. Going public is a guarantee of enshittification but it isn't the only way.
