  • There are a lot of hobbyist stations connected to Weather Underground. I have one! I got it more because we are in kind of a microclimate area slightly different than the city's main station. And also we are prone to hurricanes and other windy conditions, so I just wanna track the wind outside to know if I have to run out and secure loose items.

    With the Weather Underground widget, I can have my station data right on my phone. Forecasts still go by the main city.

    Fun fact, the mast for the old DirectTv dish was the perfect size for the weather station, and gave me an excuse to climb up and take the dish down finally.
