I want Communism to happen so everyone can have a good time.

  • I'm on a bit of a down swing (not in a defeatist way, just in a things haven't been going as planned way). My spirit remains bright and steeled but things haven't been too great for ya boy this week. I remain of good cheer and positive mindset most certainly. Also not in the foolish "don't look at the world around you" way, but in the cool "stoic and resolute that I will achieve my goals in the face of adversity, and that adversity makes me stronger if I learn from it" way.

    • Cardio remains on point. Hitting at least 3 miles a day. Running is slowly getting better/easier, just need to keep focusing maintaining consistent performance.
    • Reading keeping me sane. Reading more and more sci-fi classics. I'm gonna try and tap into the modern stuff but I feel like you should read the stuff that has influenced you like
    • Failed an exam in my master's program. Didn't study. That was 420% my fault. Won't happen again.
    • Programming/Game Development streak is only three days, but if I do it today it'll be four and if I do it again it'll be five. I keep reminding myself that 1 is infinitely closer to 100 than 0. I am focusing on building the habit and skills, rather than trying to "build my dream game".
  • It would also be a shitty stable diffusion re-rendering of the urinal model.

  • Talk that talk Ulysses, SPEAKONIT!

  • Games @hexbear.net

The word "simulator" with generic AI generated thumbnail games are making "discovering" games impossible

  • Damn that sucks. There tons of ways of talk about negative experiences and stuff without being a lib, shame they did not. Bummer.

  • I missed something, what happened? Were Hexbears not being cool commies? Being cool is like the number one rule of being a leftie internet dork. Ya gotta be cool.

  • It's true. So much of modern apparel is way more expensive now and has never been of poorer quality.

  • Part of me still mad that Javik was technically a "DLC" character when he ought to have been in the base game from the jump. Then again that's part of the problem (even at the time, not even in retrospect) pre-orders and all sort of stuff. It needlessly fragmented games. Regardless I thought Javik was rad him basically saying "Are you people for real right now? Like seriously?" to everything was great.

  • I'm still trying to find more ways to reclaim my attention and free time. I have deleted a lot of the apps on my phone. So many of them serve ZERO purpose and do nothing for me in the short term or long term. I'm not see any real changes or impact yet but I'm thinking that all of those little "micro-interactions" with my phone will add up to lets say 3-5 per week.

I'm trying to find a better "routine" as far as cooking and cleaning as well. Keeping my domain orderly is a big help for me but finding a pattern that works still hasn't really settled for me. I'd rather keep it clean and orderly rather than having to clean and order things when they are in disarray.

Finding time to really lock in and do my game development was rough last week. I didn't make much progress on anything, I'm even trying to log my work in a journal/blog but it really highlights how little I have done and how far i have to go. Making even tiny micro lame-o games is far more demanding on my time than I would like. But still I want to make games as a hobby so I gotta find a pathway to fulfill this desire, because I'm worth the effort.

Diet and exercise remain on point. Doing more cardio, slightly less weight training and I'm seeing improvement in body composition. Still making sure to do regular heavy resistance days but I'm really hopeful to see my cardio endurance improve.

  • Exactly dude! It has never made more sense to have split-screen/same screen co-op games. Shooters, beat 'em ups, Platformers, party games whatever (also lots of great accessibility features for those who need them), we finally have enough screen space to do really co-op properly and we all gotta just get in VOIP. Ugh, this future sucks man.

  • I will never forgive the gaming executives for killing couch co-op. We have never had better TV's and monitors in history and it's shame I can't share the space with the homies. Inviting people over for a game session ought to be a normal way for grown-ups to kick it in the modern age, but no. We all gotta hop on Discord and pretend to be together rather than just actually being together.

  • Reading the top 20 podcast list is fascinating. I'm rather surprised by the amount of pop psychology meets hustle-grind culture on there. The true crime stuff was expected, but the pop psychology/"Master your mindset bro™©®" is concerning but also explains a lot of the normie/mainstream stuff I hear and see online these days.

  • I think I mixed "Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors" and "Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge" into one game. My bad dawg.

  • The best we can do is get sold way overpriced DLC cosmetics in SF6. It hurts my arcade youth soul to see NightStalkers be done dirty like this.

  • The cloud was a mistake. I still think truly dystopian that the new Windows OS has you save things to the "OneDrive" by default rather than your actual physical harddrive. That type of shit is the realest consent manufacturing, structure superstructure, 1984, power is whatever that has the means to deem something normal-ass shit ever.

  • I really do hope ladybird can do something substantial, but even the most optimistic outcome is maybe half a decade away. I really do hope the techno wizards of the net do something about meaningful alternative browsers and do it soon

  • Pack it up boyz, goin' back to books now. The internet is a fuck and everything will be an ad. uBlock Origin in all of its zeal and strength may not be enough to protect us from the endless and ceaseless onslaught that will be the internet to come.

  • I need this to anti-trend. Please.

  • Finally, a president pick i can trust.

  • Self improving Hexbears is what the systems fears the most. That and organized citizens crossing over social/racial/Religious/cultural barriers to come together to defeat the vampires at the top in order create more equality and equable world
