  • AFAIK, Reddit has a bunch of Chinese investors. Maybe they care?

  • Oh my bad, I must have missed that. I used mail without drive for the longest time and only just recently started using drive.

  • This is how Google solves it. Would be nice to have that integration between mail and drive.

  • I’m in a similar boat. I always disable this feature.

But I’m also pretty good at avoiding junk mail or unsubscribing from newsletters. So I guess I’m not the target user for such a feature.

  • That’s awesome, thanks! Good to know that this is going to be supported by Lemmy itself.

  • I’m waiting for this. Keen to use humanitaire as it’s more minimal (iirc).

  • They don’t pay artists much though

  • Don’t get GoreTex because it’s using PFAS chemicals which are harmful to the nature we’re out there to enjoy.

  • Very good gear and they don’t use chemicals harmful for the environment (such as Gore-Tex / PFAS).

  • Would be interesting to learn why they decided to discontinue Qwant Maps. I wonder if it’s a technological hurdle, a competitor issue or something else.

I’m still looking for a good Google/Apple Maps replacement with good UX and enough information about local businesses.

  • Yeah I was surprised as well, but apparently they’re working in a new browser.

It’s an interesting approach where you can take all the learnings from the first product and then put it into a follow-up product.

I hope they’re continuing the ARC direction, just not based on Chromium. But I’m afraid they’re going all in on some sort of AI browser..

  • Arc is very nice for my workflow, quite a different take on what a browser can be. But I’d say you’re not missing out too much as it’s, unfortunately, no longer in active development.

They still update chromium regularly, but they’re no longer working on functionality or bug fixes because it’s “done” or something. 🤷‍♂️

  • Sorry but I can’t read past that intro. Don’t doubt there’s a bunch of propaganda out there, but this is don’t tell me Israel is the victim here. Their propaganda machine has been running full steam for decades.

  • I moved to notion. I think the CEO story is somewhat overblown. But I’m using custom domains in case I’m proven wrong, which will make it easy to switch if I have to.

  • I though Orion was free to use?

  • Are you installing this on an Apple device? Curious about your experience!

  • Same.

Getting a bit tired of the brigading against Proton. IMO the negativity is overblown and Proton is still a good option.

But do recommend everyone to get a custom domain so it’s easy to switch in case I’m proven wrong and Proton does turn sour.

  • This is an amazing resource, thank you! What reasonably secure phone of around $100 are you thinking of?

  • 100%. Lemmy just happens to have the communities I’m interested in.

I remember trying to move to Mastodon years ago. But the main topics in my feed were furries, transgenders and activists.

Not hating on any of those, but it just wasn’t what I was interested in at the time, so I quit the whole microblogging thing altogether and spent more time on Reddit.
