Sup.

  • "emotionally overwhelming" isn't always happy.

  • Thankfully? Sounds like she wanted to leave, is happy, healthy and well cared for. We don't know what home life was like, and she walked into the police station to get herself off the missing persons list as shes not missing.

  • I have recently tested positive for a dozen different autoimmune issues. I went from a sharp 38 year old to a 40 year old who struggles with concentration. As a small business owner, it scares the hell out of me because I there is a lot riding on me to maintain the success of my business.

    It's terrifying.

  • Sounds like a 'human' to me. What kind of neanderthal licks cookies and puts them back. Who do they think they are, Ariana Grande?

  • If you have bleeding edge hardware, that can be a problem from time to time, but if I'm being honest, I haven't seen any real issues since the early 00's needed tweaking to work. To suggest that Windows is tweak free is disingenuous, and Apple is a walled garden that is designed to 'just work' but Apple expects their users to just buy a new device when something becomes mildly inconvenient to them.

  • I was trying to convey that there is no right or wrong answer to which distro to choose, but some distros are more advances than others, so if the most applicable distro is selected it should be fine. But I get what you're saying.

  • This is weird. Like, so weird.

  • Cat or dog?

  • You don't need to "be smart" to switch to Linux. Linux for the most part 'just works' these days of you choose the 'right' distro.

  • Currently playing it. Works fine. Gamepad worked automatically, ui is compatible, and appears to be a low battery drain title.

  • Everyone raves about breath of the wild. Playing it currently. Have no idea what I'm doing. Scratch that, I have no idea why I'm doing. I feel like I was basically told "if it's orange go there do that. Try not to fall asleep while this random person you came across tells their life story."

  • The only feature worth upgrading my PaperWhite for would be better resolution and the warm color frontlighting. If they release a robust color kindle, I'll probably bite but I imagine Amazon isn't doing that because it would be the last kindle anyone buys.

  • EGS logs itself out on windows desktops all the time too. Just terrible software and annoying.

  • "Hold Please". I have a Pagewide 8000XL and a HP Latex L360. These things are always in a "please wait" state.

  • Keep in mind how Google works. It's taking your metrics into consideration. So someone who has never Googled lemmy likely wouldn't have seen thst same result.

  • Electric car batteries are made to last at least 7 years (from a warranty standpoint) but in reality it’s more like 10. Not only that but they’re not single, gigantic objects. They’re made of lots of “cells” so if one of them is going bad you can replace just that one bad cell.

Sincere question, what happens with the second hand electric vehicle market? New electrics make a ton of sense, but in my mind the 'used car' market becomes essentially unobtainable for poor folk. If a 12 year old electric vehicle hits the market, eventually the second or third owner is going to have to replace the batteries and poor people can't afford the 5000 plus labor to get new cells for it.

This isn't a situation that affects me, at the moment, but there are millions of people around the globe who buy the $1000 car and drive it until it just doesn't go anymore. I don't see that being an option for electrics.

  • I have an extra key for Senua if you're interested.

  • Cooper sharp is the burger cheese.

  • 🙄 I never said I was banned. If you're going to be intentionally dense, I'm not engaging with you.
