  • This pretty much sums it up. Every single thing they did ao far was based on their program/promises during the pre-election campaign. The majority of people voted for this (hell they expect it) and it does not come as suprise to anyone who is following the Hungarian politics.

  • I was never a big online player, but I loved cooperative stuff with my friends. Left4Dead, Borderlands, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Remnant from the Ashes, Terraria, Grim Dawn, etc I met a bunch of guys in an online forum, we had our own section there and become good friends for over 15 years we had hundreds of thousands of comments, posts and just idiotic conversations about stupid stuff. We even met in person a few times, even though we lived in different countries.

    I am over 40 now, all my friends have families, everyone is too busy and we rarely have time to play together anymore. Last year I think 3-4 times managed to arrange a session and we ended up catching up and just chatting about the good old days and life in general. Most of them are offline on Steam for over 2-3 years now, which is sad.

    I am now almost exclusively playing single player stuff. Having a family and a full time job its not easy to find time, but its not impossible. Also picked up solo board gaming to decrease my screen time and I can say its been great.

    I miss the old times, but its easier to arrange some gaming time for myself, I think I prefer it now this way. Still it sucks how fast we get old. Cant do anything about it, but I can still enjoy this hobby, just a little bit differently.

  • Thats a lot. My whole water installation was under 5k (plumbing without appliances + floor heating) for a 110 m2 family house, plus got mutiple offers for heat pumps (install+setup) between 4k - 8k with different mid-ranged models (air-water) after stating my budget. Of course there are high-end models for 10-20k, but I have no reason to choose smart features and buzzwords for the premium price.

    Location is Slovakia, but prices in Hungary and Czech Republic are similar. All prices are from 2025-2026, with government support program for energy saving appliances.

  • Its becoming more common here in Central Europe, most new builds family houses have them.

    They have a couple drawbacks, like the high upfront cost (in my country a mid-range pump can cost between 3-8K Euros) and they work best with well insulated buildings, but once its installed they can save a tons of money, especially when paired with solar panels or wind turbines.

    I would not worry about the story, the voice acting is so ridiculously bad in a funny way, you will not remember anything, just the presentation.

  • Two Worlds and Two Worlds 2 The first one was advertised as the "Oblivion killer". Which is hilarious, because of how janky bug ridden pile of code it is. Yet I love it. I could create such broken OP characters, which could one shot bosses.

    The second one got a bit better production quality, but its still a broken mess. Love it.

  • I live 200 km from the office. They hired me to work remotely and only drive to the office about twice a month for team events and to meet visitors. It worked for years. Nobody cared as long as my work was done. I got promoted twice and every one of my managers wrote very good reviews about my performance every single quarter. Still its a pointless exercise, These days are by far my least productive. I drive 2,5-3 hours each way on office days and the open plan office is worst than a Turkish bazaar. Impossible to get work done.

    Until last year we got a new CEO, our department got merged with another one and all of the sudden there is an issue with my "visibility". I asked them repeatedly in what metric is this showing, since my numbers are always way above average. They said they didn't look at my numbers, only the one which shows how many times I swiped my card a month.

    Now they want me to come to the office twice a week. So I said its not very reasonable to ask this and now I got till September to change my attitude and improve my visibility or I can start looking for a new job. So I'm pretending to play along with this, but already looking for a new job. Wish me luck as the job market right now is an AI-centric hellscape with fake listings and data stealing traps. Honestly fuck big corporations.

  • Found mine ages ago in a CEX in London. It was on display and cought my eye while walking past it.

    I went in and asked the staff for the Steam controller and they had no idea what I was talking about. Had to go outside with them to show it. They didn't know they had it :D

    Just to put it in perspective how bad the situation was in Hungary from up close, most opposition parties (leftist or not) had literally zero chance replacing the Orban regime in the past 16 years.

    They destroyed their opponents with a brutal propaganda machine and twisted voting system (winner compensation). I saw it first hand, I lived there a few years and the brainwashing is not just a buzzword, most boomers love Orban more than their own families. I wanted to buy a house and live there, but we left after a couple years after we saw what the state media did to people.

    This was probably the last chance to get rid of them and it was an incredible feat to pull off. Magyar might not be the most ideal candidate, but if your house is on fire you cant pick and choose the firefighters.
