  • Its a learning curve for sure, I'm still learning it myself. Openrc seemed to be fairly popular, so thats why I started with that.

There is a few changes such as not using service files and instead using crob jobs, seeing the logs of your tasks need to be hooked into using syslog-ng to consolidate the logs. I'm still learning how you see stuff like the service status etc.

Its been fun learning something new again, and writing a script like this to set it all up for me has been a great way to learn it all.

  • People can donate to all of these things if they wish - I dont see why GrapheneOS can't also be given funds even just for the work that they're doing currently.

  • At least you didn't actually lose that other piece

  • Its called a cannula. I had the same for my tonsils, except the guy said "this is just fluids to keep you hydrated" then I woke up hours later in another room. Lol

  • Literally never used it in my life, but it looks legit. Very cool

  • Probably just won't sell those specific models in those regions? All mobile manufacturers already have region specific devices.

  • All fair points. I'm sure there will be a lot of pressure from Corporate entities to push this in, and with how other platforms are just seemingly giving up - I really dont have a lot of confidence left.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Its definitely a complicated issue. In my opinion it seems many people dont really appreciate the broader implications I.e its not just about a singular birthday field, its about what comes next.

  • I agree with you, wholeheartedly. However, Nate has a lot of influence and no doubt if he thinks it must be done then likely it will. Nothing against him personally of course.

I'll still be pulling my donations, and if they do decide to not implement it then I'll be more than happy to resume. At the end of the day I'm powerless to really affect change on their end, albeit trying to voice my opinion in the matter.

  • I don't need it, no. Its more akin to an unattended installer with a answer file - once you start the script you only need to input the new password for root and user account and thats it.

  • I've started updating my own Arch install script to work with Artix instead. Hopefully have it done in a few days.

  • I found a FireBeetle 2 ESP32 C6 has Thread support, that looks like it'll be perfect

  • Very cool, just had a look at a WS2812B and an ESP32 - seems like it'd be reasonably priced. I think I'll go down this route.

I'm away from my computer at the moment, but I'll read into this a bit more and see how achievable it is.

    Thanks for this

  • Ooga Booga!

  • I'm assuming he has laser eyes, and the visor will stop him from lasering the puppies.

  • Useful for modifying live footage, from say a security camera...
