  • S is for sarcasm. I don't think i was being sarcastic. I wasn't serious either, just making a funny comment in response to another funny comment.

  • I get the opposite. Everything before the pandemic is ancient history.

  • Next best thing is to leave the seat as it was when you used it. This way the next person needs to change it only if they need it.

Having said that, in my household we close lid altogether, but sometimes female guests leave the lid up, with the seat down 🙄

  • Too bad women are too stubborn to pee with the seat up. Men are willing to meet them half way and put the seat down for pooping.

  • That's false. If you want to make everyone equal, you close the pay gap.

To me, egalitarianism is making sure neither group is treated unfarly, so they should both receive the same pay for the same work, but also the same punishment for the same crime, etc.

  • Interesting that you brought up finally. I was learning Rust the last two days and didn't realise it was missing. There may be some other way of handling it.

  • It's an abstract analogy but i think it works... When the roof is really needed, it's not possible to fix it because rain / deadline.

When it's sunny, no deadlines, the hole doesn't impede any work, so there's no need to fix it, difficult to convince PM that it needs fixing.

  • Combined return types is a Rust feature.

I recently started learning Rust, and would prefer exceptions. Even Java checked exceptions aren't too bad to work with. Rust approach is Ok though and ir has a purpose.

  • The UI shows that it's a drop-up menu, but the menu itself drops down. Definitely a bug, not user error.

I know you're just suggesting a workaround, but i don't think the author is asking for one, just highlighting the UI flaw.

  • Then you shouldn't be spreading it like a fact

  • I guess it's easier to write off if you're employer as you can get an invoice for giftcard. Also sometimes shops will offer you a gift card uf you're returning something outside of the customary time period of 30 days, but it's better than not being able to return.

What's vile is gift cards with expiry date which I cant believe is legal, even in the EU!

  • It's easy, my bank automatically pays off my cc monthly from my current account. Isn't it standard?

  • And You can see Alaska from there

  • Can you share what you use git commit hooks for?

  • Amen. I also need to be able to commit WIP quickly if i need to urgently checkout master, or push my code because my laptop battery is about to die and i dont want it to have the only copy of my work.

  • People like to help, they don't know that LLMs generate bullshit. This should answer the "why".

  • I dont pay for sewage and I crap as much as I want, too.

  • "Are you willing to own the risk? If so, what will it look like? Can you budget additional time for addressing these bugs, and draft contingency plans?"

  • And there i thought i had a unique combo 😅
