  • I mean Ahsoka and Maul's stories continue in Rebels as a follow up from Clone Wars. I'm sure you could watch Rebels without having seen Clone Wars, but if you're going to watch Rebels I would highly recommend Clone Wars first.

    • Maul being alive. Him just showing up in Rebels if you last saw him die in Phantom Menace leaves you with a lot of questions.
    • Ahsoka battling Vader. It helps to know who Ahsoka is. Vader with a broken helmet saying her name is heartbreaking.
    • Obi Wan and Satine. Maul and Satine. While Rebels doesn't mention her the relationship they had is important backstory. the Twin Suns episode is the conclusion to when Obi Wan and Maul first met, the finale. You can skip the middle, but it adds a lot.
  • I mean Homelander's powers would be excellent if I'm living in that universe. Lots of scary shit and people killing each other. Although if I have Homelander's powers, living in a world with Homelander, he probably going to try and kill me... Which isn't ideal.

In which case Soldier Boy's powers seem like a good choice. Which I'm largely picking so I don't get murdered by other superheroes.

  • It's weird to think it was only 7 years ago, definitely feels longer. Although I suppose COVID was a huge dividing point, so pre-COVID was forever ago and post-COVID is just now.

Cap calling Mjolnir is still probably the best moment in the MCU.

  • I like Sliders.

I don't think this show will work, but Big Bang Theory was successful, Young Sheldon was successful, as best I can tell George and Mandy something is successful... So maybe?

I'm sure we'll get some extra Bazinga in the first episode or two, but if this succeeds we could get a real Sliders soft reboot.

  • Joey Joe Joe!

    Correct!

  • Except you, since you're a Bouvier.

No, when I took your father's name I took everything that came with it, including DNA.

    Correct!

  • I do agree the yearly release is a plus.

I can't speak for Monarch (and I enjoyed The Last of Us season 2), but I think the simplicity of The Pitt is what helps keep it consistently good. (Two seasons is hard to declare a pattern, but I'm going to.)

If you only watched season 2 of The Pitt you still know what's going on.

It also helps being a 15 episode season. Things can happen slowly and are given time to breathe. Most streaming shows are 8 to 10 episodes and sometimes it's just go go go.

Don't get me wrong I don't think shows need to stretch to fill more episodes. You can tell an amazing story in 8 episodes.

  • The show having a planned ending is good news. Hopefully it means they have an outline of future seasons as well. I haven't seen anything clearly stated online but it seems like at least four seasons is the plan.

Based on season 2 it seems clear to me that season 1 didn't have a clear future ending. They knew where season 1 ended, but didn't know what season 2 would be. Season 2 was world building, so hopefully season 3 gets us setup towards a conclusion.

  • Seth has been pretty honest about why he made the series, Peacock wheeled up a truck full of money. The second season was clearly a finale (although you could weasel out of it with a joke). However it's clear with the viewership numbers, they're pulling up another truck of money.

That isn't to say Seth is half-assing the show. Seth writes a good sitcom.

... I just wish Seth would focus on The Orville.

    Moe, I need your points

  • Oh, RoidingOldMan, I feel like St. Augustine of Hippo after his conversion by Ambrose of Milan.

    Correct!

  • Whittaker's run lost me a few episodes in, but I've since gone back and watched it and it was alright. Jodie herself was great so I hope she'll still return in future collaboration stuff I'm sure they're get around to at some point. I thought Gatwa's run was much better, although they completely botched the ending. I can only assume that's because he left, but it really doesn't work. (Not blaming him for leaving, they gave him a shit deal by not renewing.)

  • The Simpsons @lemmy.world

Tail made out of points. Who else is it going to be?

  • They must have a lot of evidence if they're arresting what's his name.

  • The Simpsons @lemmy.world

    Drop the point, chief

  • I binged season 1 of this show over this past December holiday and really enjoyed it. Season 2 was probably even better.

Based on all the interviews the show itself is too expensive and the second season is a clear finale, so while we won't see anymore "live action" Ted, the plan is to continue the series (set after the films) in animation.

The cast they have is fun so I'd say stick to the past and keep everyone on board, but that's not the plan.

  • “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

Per Variety, back when Kimmel was pulled.

Fallon is also not acceptable. I do agree it's typically Kimmel, Colbert or Meyers and much less frequently Fallon, but he has called for him to be fired/removed.

  • So what are you two kids doing in my neck of the woods?

    Correct!

  • The river, the one with all the ducks.

  • The Simpsons @lemmy.world

Mr. Tough Guy can't handle a little points

  • I don't think Nolan is selfish in wanting forgiveness. Wanting forgiveness is a natural thing. Look at Mark and how he treats Nolan. I can't say Mark has forgiven him completely, but he defends Nolan from time to time.

I expect part of next season will involve Debbie and him getting along better. As Nolan said, Debbie wants to forgive, to give him a second chance.

Cecil? He's pragmatic. He doesn't have to forgive.

Earth? I don't know. Especially if the Thragg plan becomes public.

  • Diabolical.

Everyone asking if the war is over, looking for the war to be over, can't it just come to an end!

Thragg: No, and it never will be.

  • I've been saying for weeks that it's a shame we don't have Frank this season. But after Karen put a gun to Bullseye's head I see why we can't have Frank. Frank would have pulled the trigger, easy peasy.

    Matt won't. Karen might.

Karen is looking for someone to tell her to just do it, and Frank would say go for it.

  • I think BB going in Daniel's room was a reminder that he's a good kid.

Daniel really thinks that Kingpin in a good man trying to clean up the city. He really thinks he is helping the city.

BB has been using him and violating his trust. She was just about to do it again. But that moment reminded her that Daniel is a person, a kid with dreams, a good person, so she stopped.
