  • I think it's due to some other setting, like "wipe the phone if password is entered wrongly ten times". It's possible to enter bootloader mode accidentally, but wipe the phone requires too many steps to be done multiple times in a row.

Backups and android always suck. They made it on the developer. It's the developer that has to write a function to backup the settings on the Google servers. Not difficult, takes like a couple hours tops, but nobody is doing that.

Instead on iOS it works on the opposite way, the operating system backups everything and it's the developer that has to waste a couple hours if they DON'T want their app data backupped on iCloud.

The result is that on iOS a backup restore gives you a almost 1:1 copy, while on Android a backup restore gives you a phone with all the apps resettled to zero

  • The problem is that you also get malware with legit premium plugins. I bought a $59 plugin on codecanyon and my WordPress install was hacked because it had an unpatched bug that allowed anyone to register as admin.

Did not get any single warning email from codecanyon or the dev, I just got lucky that the hacker was dumb enough to try to claim my site on Google search console and Google warned me immediately, so I could just revert a backup after understanding what was going on. Luckily, again, the hacker left the hints in the admin panel by uninstalling my "premium" plugin, so I understood that was how he could get inside.

If it's a new website, avoid WordPress. It's a security mess and extremely inefficient. I am burdened by this technical debt, migrating now it's very time consuming.

  • The ai slop video for the introduction was really horrible. With all the millions the Italian government wasted on this, couldn't spare a few thousands for a real artist to draw a simple transition animation between the Olympics? Or just green screen it...

  • I'm sure it's not a service problem.

People have no problem in paying €500/year to watch 1 match / week only from a single device in a single household

  • i "fixed" the problem of those fucking bots by blocking everyone except my country

  • LOL if 4gb of memory is pretty minimal I am curious to know that they think to be resource intensive.

The maximum memory I am willing to allocate to a lxc container dedicated to bookmark management (=something that I access twice a month) is 256mb

  • This is an ad, so the computer pictured is not fictional, but it's the HP Mediasmart ex470 (I think this joke book was even bundled with the first units)

They used really shitty processors so it's ewaste, maybe it can be acquired for cheap and repurposed with some mini itx board
