I like knitting, math, and uplifting the proletariat.

Old account: @MxRemy@lemmy.one (if lemmy.one hasn't died yet)

  • That's awesome lol. I'm unfamiliar with the subreddit equivalent, this'll be neat to see

  • Shavian has entered the chat

  • Whoa, these hurt my brainnn lol. It's so close to making some kinda sense that you can't help but try to read it as if it did

  • Everything I've needed to use runs pretty great on GrapheneOS so far, and I've been on it for years now. The non-Android mobile Linuxs have a lot further to go (so I've heard), but may become the only option depending on what Google does to Android in the future.

  • I was gonna say this too, except i always found swamp biomes really nice and comforting. Something about it not being a wide open space I guess

  • If you were to go with fish, I think there are other species that are somewhat less environmentally destructive to eat. It's been a while since I looked but it might've been like:

farmed oysters < sardines < herring < etc (from best to worst)

Something like that anyway. Not sure quite how trustworthy it is, but try Seafood Watch for recommendations. Also, small oily fish are incidentally better for you than the big popular ones anyway. Lemmy has a !tinnedseafood@lemmy.world community if you're unsure what to do culinarily with that sort of fish, might not be that populated though.

Also also, not sure if this is more or less practical since it kinda sounds like you maybe don't have a lot of choice in your food options, but: seaweed! It's delicious, vegetarian, and got most of the same crucial nutrients as small oily fish. That's where they get it from themselves, actually. You can even get culinary oil pressed from seaweed with (hopefully) the same benefits. Personally I keep an assortment of varieties of seaweed fron Maine Coast Sea Vegetables in my pantry and just put them in everything, adds a lot of umami to vegetarian food.

Feel free to disregard any of these brands or w/e, they're just the ones I use, but obviously never trust a corporation as we all know lol

  • Probably 4, which is clearly not bad at all given this scale lol

  • Great job standing up for yourself!!

  • They seem to mostllyy work on the two instances i use, except that i can't follow them. Even that is pretty annoying though.

  • I've never tried without an enclosure, because it smells way more poisonous than the internet says it is. Hard to imagine it being any harder to print than it already is though, I'd imagine it's fine

  • It's not too hard to remove from the bed. It will, however, become one with the print itself lol

  • Polypropylene, hands down. Most plastic thingies that're meant to bend constantly without wearing out are PP. Like those little straw caps attached to big drink tumblers? The bendy part, if not the whole hinge, is usually PP i think. I think generally things that could be described as "living hinges".

I will say though, that it's easily the most difficult filament I've ever had the displeasure of printing. It absolutely REFUSES to stick to literally anything but other polypropylene lol. What you do is just put some packing tape on your bed, that stuff's made of PP as well.

  • If I had that amount for a printer, I'd get an LDO Delta Flyer kit or an LDO BabyBelt Pro kit. Maybe even 2! They're pretty cheap last i checked

  • I learned about one of my very favorite things, a themed fedi instance! Those are always just awesome to me for some reason lol. This one is fgc.network which is entirely about (and for fans of) fighting games. It's in the microblogging style but it's not a Mastodon, not sure what they're running under the hood. Very cool people though!

  • At the "call the Pinkertons on your own customers" company?? Woww, definitely wishing them luck!

OOH also! There's an entirrreee MTG instance here, definitely post about it there too: !mtg@mtgzone.com

  • It's pretty variable by where specifically in PA you're at, but in my experience... yeah, unfortunately

  • We built a fancy solar node with a big giant antenna and put it on top the local library, but something's not working with it... Still trying to get it right. It seems like there are plenty of nodes around, if we can just get it working

  • Noooo way.

  • Oooh that's cleverrr... Great job! Definitely coulda used this technique a few times in the past if I'd ever thought of it
