  • Bro, I dont dig this either, but the title is a bit misleading. What they said (and they have been pretty transpartent about it: banner on the site plus email if you have an account) is that they will train their Copilot models from the user interactions with copilot, and you can opt-out.

    Now, I know the importance of defaults, but we are talking about Github, a platform for developers, I would REALLY assume these are the people that REALLY are able to toggle a setting to their preference, especially when they have been properly informed about it.

    Let's try to save the indignment for when it is justified, this was not executed in a shady way, I would much rather Microsoft do any policy change this way.

  • I have it on the latest version, both for websites that provide a web app instance ("install"/"add app to homescreen"?) or for generic web pages ("add website to hs").

    The permissions you are looking at in the ss are the "dangerous" android permissions, and usually "add links to the homescreen" is not there. On my xiaomi to grant it (if it isnt by default) you long press the app to go into the app info, then something like "other permissions" or "special permissions".

    Without a digital currency, the payment system we are left with is the mastercard/visa american duopoly, plus a plethora of startups that try to lock you in them, as you can only pay to and from other users of the same technology, often semi-locked to a specific country (satispay, vipps, ideal, giropay, etc)

    Of course, you can live in the 1900s and pay cash, but let's be realistic.

    Against the "tHey WiLl bE aBlE tO dO aNyThInG wItH uR mOneY" argument: they can already. Currencies are already backed by the fucking ecb or whatever applies in your case. The banks already have a list of all your transactions so I don't see how that would become a new concern either.

    Moreover, speaking euro-wise again, there is no plan to eliminate cash with the introduction of a digital currency. And i refuse to judge a policy based on an alleged "intention", what matters is the written facts.

    It has to be said that parallel to this we (users of sepa banks) now have unlimited, instantaneous, fee-less bank transfers, i belive thanks to eu regulations. It might be okay for person-to-person transfers but as of now very few businesses accept transfers and it is usually only for large purchases, the rest you are mostly expected to pay with card (visa/mc).

    Tram expensive. I'd rather make my city pay 10x more on road infrastructure and maintenance and then have to buy a car, gas and insurance myself to be able to move.
