  • I'd highly recommend Kagi! You can customise your search results as well, so you can make sure some websites show up more often than others (or even not at all), or higher up/lower down on the list.

  • Not sure about the upcoming months but I felt like 2024 started off with quite a few games coming out one after another, including Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, Helldivers 2, Last Epoch and Dragon's Dogma 2.

    And Manor Lords is coming out this month as well.

  • I've been experiencing something similar lately and what I found helps is to go to your audio settings in your OS and change the audio output device to something else and then change it back to the correct one. If it doesn't work the first try, try again.

    I hope that helps. It works for me. I never had this issue until recently. It's really annoying. :-/

  • Last Epoch 1.0 released (almost) 24 hours ago. What are your experiences? What masteries did you choose, what builds are being pursued?

  • Played almost non-stop since launch. Despite the server issues I was having a really good time. I've now got 3 characters in end-game; just unlocked empowered monoliths with one and close to unlocking them with a second character. I started with a spellblade as my main, then created a warlock to play with my husband but she's now my highest level character (level 86). A few days ago I created a falconer which I'm actually enjoying the most out of the 3 classes I tried.

    I joined CoF and really enjoy that faction. I initially decided to mix things up and join MG on my falconer but that quickly got boring because I didn't really see any benefits while I was leveling and I personally enjoy lots and lots of loot so I think CoF is better for me.

    Although I've been using loot filters since the start I found that my stash tabs tend to be full a lot. So I had to spend quite some time at the weekend reorganising my tabs and selling or shattering loot that I wouldn't be using on the characters I'm playing at the moment.

    Usually I get bored around endgame because ARPGs of course tend to be grindy and it sometimes takes quite a while to get the loot you want. But with the crafting system I'm actually finding this a lot less boring than in other ARPGs. It feels more rewarding even if I don't have the 'perfect' gear yet.

  • At first I was a bit disappointed at the number of skills you get to choose from, until I realised you can use most of the other masteries' skills as well and that you can create a really nice variety of builds with all the different skill trees. I think I respecced my necromancer about 4 times over the weekend just to try different things and find something I enjoy. It's been really fun so far.

    I'm also enjoying the crafting a lot!

  • Yeah, I agree that the loading times are way too long. Plus when you transition to a new area your character just stands there, sometimes it'll say 'Entering [Area Name]' and sometimes you don't even know you're about to be teleported.

    One thing I do hope they'll fix is that you automatically transition when you're standing just a bit too close (bit still too far away for this to happen?) to the white glowing thing. Sometimes I'll enter an area and accidentally leave immediately because of this.

  • I was wondering why it looked different from some of the screenshots I see here but when I play on mobile it's just an endless list that gets bigger and requires a lot of scrolling. Switched my browser to desktop mode and now I can see you can drag and drop stuff. These types of games are so simple but so addicting. Ahhh

  • Ugh I hate those ads. I had a OnePlus for a few years and forgot about all the bloat you get with a Samsung phone. Recently decided to go for a Samsung phone as the other options didn't seem much better. But now I keep getting ads from Google and Samsung in my notifications. I THINK I managed to disable some of it but it still keeps popping up once in a while.

  • I've been told what it means yet every time I see it my brain goes "for the...." and I can't figure out the last 2 letters. And I have to look it up to be reminded that it means "fixed that for you". But every time I forget and I have to look it up again.

  • Ugh I hate that with YouTube ads as well (at least on my Android TV). I'll watch something, get interrupted by ads, sometimes minutes long and/or multiple ads, and after the ad(s) it jumps seconds or even minutes ahead from where I was watching. Then when I rewind to the point I was at it'll often play even more ads. It's super annoying but if they think this convinces me to buy their premium subscription they're very wrong. It's so off-putting.

  • Baldur's Gate 3, mostly. But I've been playing Pathfinder Wrath of The Righteous when the others in the group I play with can't play.

    Oh, and some Cities Skylines II here and there. Works reasonably well with the controller, but it's not perfect.

  • I really like it so far, especially with the new apps. I'm using Boost and I honestly can't tell the difference between this and the old Boost for Reddit. The transition is really smooth. Oh, and everything on Lemmy feels very intuitive and the people seem less toxic.

    And Mastodon...I really like it. I'll post something with the right hashtags and suddenly there's a conversation between a bunch of people with the same interests that goes on for weeks!
