  • I was not aware how bad some of the new features have made youtube, since I almost never go there anymore "directly", I use alternative frontends like nadeko.net provides, so thanks for posting this. Once this loophole is closed, I will loose my favorite creators forever, if they do not migrate to other platforms, or start blogging like this guy.

  • This is a fairly interesting story, how do they manage to identify you with (high enough) certainty. People should shudder at the possibilities here. Maybe they track your screen resolution mouse-movement speed and even typing anomalies to detect you.

  • people who are buying into an ecosystem where we put our trust into the same corporation to protect us from malware

Terms of use change all the time. Cooperate strategies and CEOs change all the time, trusting such a fluid system seems stupid. Give us the freedom to audit and modify the systems we use to best fit our needs, like the GNU/Linux operating system. That is the philosophy behind open source and that is exactly what fsf promote here imo.

Does this mean they optimized for CPU instead of GPU? I doubt they target Intel GPUs tbh, so they really optimized for CPU... interesting!

  • The guy has pretty big constraints on his setup: Voice Cloning AND open source …

At the top of the leaderboard is Kokoro. Kokoro is an amazing model! Especially for a modest 82 Million (!) parameters and a mere 360 MB (!). However, like many models in this leaderboard - I can’t use it - since it doesn’t support voice cloning.

Is this because of the housing crisis? Where houses are getting more expensive faster than wage growth and inflation? Or is it immigration even for the younger generations?
