All men are dangerous

When you go through a safe driving class, they teach you to assume everyone else on the road is an idiot who can't drive. This isn't because they are, it's because it's safer to approach it that way.

In scouts you're taught that if you encounter a carrion animal, you should assume it has rabies. Not because rabies is common, but because you really don't want to be the rare case of rabies.

When you're learning how to handle firearms, you're taught to assume all guns are loaded until you've personally checked and cleared it. This isn't because guns magically manifest bullets as they're handed from one person to another, it's because it's safer to make sure than to hope someone else didn't make a mistake.

The only reason this is any different is because it makes weak men feel the same way they want to make everyone else feel.

Phone charges should plug into the top of the phone not the bottom.

Years ago I had these little magnetic lugs that you popped into the charge port and the cable just snapped onto the little magnet. Always thought I'd be cool to have a phone case with a track all the way around the phone so that the magnet cable could pop anywhere and the would charge off it. Then it's always where it's most convenient instead of right where you don't want it.

It's a breeze

There's a generic Jason Statham movie where he dead pan answers "I don't have caffeine after 7" and there's this hilarious level of disconnect between the idea of a career criminal badass who straight up kills dozens of people but also practices a strict and health conscious bed time routine.

I really want to start a sort of civil movement charity type thing that voluntarily helps minority groups learn to operate and aquire firearms. Especially in the queer community, firearms are considered an icky or scary topic, but in this day and age it's not something you can afford to be scared of. Breaking down the macho talk of gun culture and sticking to clear, safe facts will go a long way, same for a buddy system to help people people who might not be comfortable entering the gun culture oozing gun store to purchase a gun. I know a lot of women who want to buy a gun but don't want to be a woman in a gun store.

TIL steak Canadian was not invented in Canada and almost no one in Canada knows what it is.

Had to look it up, it's a breakfast sandwich from England. "Beef Canadian“ slices which are apparently roast beef or something similar, fried mushrooms and onions, cheddar cheese, and either ketchup or maple syrup.

Honestly, not too bad sounding. Put it on rye or pumpernickel, maybe a thick roll and pan fried like a melt.

What would the next pres of USA have to do to gain back trust for America? Hold a televised event saying the last person was just a fuck up?

Hang every person on the Epstein list.
Abolish lobbying and any level of secrecy for politicians
Reclaim all private property owned by anyone with more than 5 million dollars and fairly redistribute it.
Disband the CIA.
Make all documents in the government public record.
Write a new constitution listing all possible ways the government could be exploited to be reviewed anually with lifetime Incarnation and labor for violations and compounding punishment for each individual involved.

How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?

This is something that killed walking dead for me. There was a whole thing where they're in the prison and the zombies outside manage to mass up enough that they break the fence. If they took shifts, 4 hrs a day with a spear and head stabbed the zombies they would never have gotten to a critical mass.

Infact, I did the math years ago for my ideal zombie escape zone. It would only take 8 people and a month to effectively eliminate the entire regional population if we move in 4 hour shifts. So baring the entire nearest metropolitan city showing up at once with a psychic level awareness of our presence and a deep need for revenge, all you really need is consistency and a schedule.

Simpler times

There was a brief moment in the internet during this time, not the wild west age of unmoderated forums and ascaii memes but the budding frontier town of rage comics and early social media. There was an exact point, just before the year Facebook became the defacto social network, where the internet could have taken a different path and lead to something great. You still see the chipped paint of that mural in places like Reddit before the premium and Lemmy before the shill accounts. The hangers on from the old world that catch the scraps the mega corps drop. Gaiaonline is still propped up by a dedicated community. Small forums grow like weeds in the cracked pavement.

If we could find those places, sure up their crumbling palisades against the endless effort to advertise, breathe life into them in our own quite ways. Create the internet we wanted instead of sulking in the one we were given.
