"Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live." --Mae Jemison (astronaut)

  • Same!

  • A different opinion is no reason to remain silent.

That's extremely ironic coming from you

  • Same! I am a little cynical because so many of these breakthroughs don't seem to go anywhere, but at least people are trying I guess.

  • Just accept that your argumentative style and habit of putting people down are unwelcome here. So much of your post history is of you complaining. You're being negative and toxic to the Lemmy community. Look at all your downvotes in this thread.

Your mod history doesn't paint a pretty picture! lol Doesn't that tell you something about what people on Lemmy think of you and the way you talk to people? You need to take a break from Lemmy or something. You this angry in your real life? Ick.

  • I’m not discussing this with you. People say you report people for disagreeing with you.

  • Crappy DRM

  • Oh! Good idea!

  • Some of that does sound like Trump supporter logic though. Sounds like a lot of negativity when you talk w people too.

  • You made great points!

@rhoeri@lemmy.world 's entire post history seems to be comments arguing w people. His comment history is a wild ride. I have no idea what it would be like to be that angry and negative all day.

  • I'm against it. There is no point to it. Just keep the clocks the same, no reason to change them. Not many other places in the world do it. We only did it because in the old old days, farmers needed more light.

Not only that, but not even every state here in the US does it anyway. So why make some do it?

  • Says the guy who jokes about torture because he's mad about ai. lol

  • Ohhh, so it was satire. Ok ok... Hmmmm...

So ya think it's ok to 'joke' about shock-collars and torture, because hey, it's just satire. Even tho that's for real used to torture people in today's world. Good to know that it's all definitely fodder for just a joke. Right? Joking about torture doesn't seem awesome to me.

But hey, if it's satire, man...

  • This study seems to assume that we will power basically none of the oncoming air conditioning with renewable energy

Well, to be fair, we sure haven't worked very hard on creating current consumer air conditioning with renewable energy.

  • How is what I said a bad-faith take? I responded to your comments.

You literally said: "We need to permanently bolt a shock collar onto the neck of the Burger King CEO. Whenever he proposes something monstrously inhuman and abominable, an AI will detect it and give him an incredibly painful shock." and after I brought it up, you doubled down and said, "I think I found someone else in need of an AI shock collar…"

How is anything I said, bad-faith? Did you or did you not say those things?

Or maybe you thought it's ok to 'joke' about shock-collars and torture. Maybe you can explain, so I can understand.

  • So you are against AI in customer service, but you are for AI shock collars that torture people who disagree with you? Think about that and maybe do some self-reflection.

  • So you are against someone using ai to make sure people say 'welcome' and 'thank you' in a customer facing role, but you are totally for using ai to torture people you don't like.

Think about that and maybe do some self-reflection.

  • yep

  • Yet another sign that China is going to beat us in the modern race to the moon.
