  • I don't think QR codes have changed at all. Only the tools we use to scan them have

  • maybe not originally but now it has this post as a credible source

  • People just want to eat the rich

  • Or if you're in europe, Herman Miller might be overpriced, even on the second gand market. But there are loads of solid German chair brands where the same concept applies. I got good deal on an open box Interstuhl chair just before corona hit. Still looks brand new today

  • Go to a library

  • If it were that important to Microsoft then they should just refuse to boot without the chain of trust. I'm guessing they can't because of backwards compatibility reasons. Maybe they will with Windows 12.

  • No critical part of Windows actually requires the TPM. The limitation is 99% artificial. Which is why people keep finding workarounds.

  • About the Signal protocol: It's end-to-end encrypted. It would not allow for the server to give you a customized feed. Also messages expire but I'm not sure if that's to the protocol.

  • Fair. But since RAM is one of the easiest parts to upgrade you don't need to future-proof it much imo. Just add a stick when it's cheaper

  • For gaming you don't really need 16GB yet. Maybe after the next gen of consoles is out, developers might start using that much RAM. But then OP can just add a stick or two

  • Sorry if I wasn't clear. I did mean OP should not consider NVidia + Linux

  • I think the price difference would more more less reflect in the perofrmance difference for these setups. So whatever you need and can affort is the right choice. Unless you intend to install linux, then the AMD one for sure.

  • I assume you mean the 5070ti? Depends on what OS you intend to run, which games, what CPU you have (driver overhead), what the local prices are like and how much belief you have in AMD Redstone being good.

  • Can someone explain to me who the target group is tho? I understand FPGAs have a larger potential of emulating hardware fast. But it's not like the chip designs for these old consoles are open source. So FPGAs are usually not cycle accurate either.

  • Seeding linux ISOs for plausible deniability 😏

  • Maybe. If I can run FOSS software on it

  • OBS to display a static image or looping video and your audio player of choice going through a playlist? Doesn't need to be more complicated than that
