I fuck numbers.

  • These people don't have any sense of shame when you point out their corruption. At least in this case, they seem to care. So be it. Shame these bastards. The point isn't that drag (or whatever the appropriate word here is) is bad, it's not. I enjoy going to drag performances myself. It's that they preach values that go against this. So, at least to me, it's totally fair game to ridicule them for this.

I think actual LGBTQ people understand this nuance, since they seem to be shaming him too. I'm a little fat. (Not too fat anymore, have been working out. But it used to be pretty bad.) But I don't give a fuck when people fat shame Trump or Musk. It seems to hurt those bastards. Because they're petty and shallow people.

  • I think that should be enough. Maybe try two vCPUs if you wanna host other stuff too. But for just some mirrors/aggregators, one vCPU is probably enough. I don't think you really need to worry about RAM or storage either.

Computers are plenty fast these days. I think you'll only start to see actual performance issues when handling hundreds of simultaneous users.

In any case, you shouldn't be spending over $10/month. You can get much lower. Take a look at this. I don't know how reliable or secure they are, but they're very cheap. I've used their VPS in the past, and it seemed pretty okay.

Edit: You can also do what I do for heavier stuff like Jellyfin or Immich, and simply use the VPS as a relay. The actual stuff runs on my home server, connects to the VPS via Wireguard, which then masks its IP.

  • Not always. You can pay by crypto at many places e.g. https://kyun.sh/

Also, many of the providers don't really validate anything so you can get away with providing random information, and paying with a prepaid debit card.

    Had a chuckle

  • The Dark Knight Rises. I was in middle school, and my someone had told my parents that it was extremely violent. Anyway, my cousin had a pirated copy, so I watched it at his place. We could literally hear people chomping on popcorn, and see moving heads lol.

  • Cult. I think that's the correct word. Death cult, even, given all the bullshit that they're trying to pull.

  • I think it's kinda better using quadlets, because I wrote some custom scripts, and quadlets made the process better. But podman compose is probably file too.

  • Rootless. The docker containers were rootful, hence the permission struggles.

  • Yes of course. Had to spend a couple of hours fixing permission related issues.

  • Just did that last weekend. Nothing to do anymore. 😢

  • Damn, I guess I'll stick to the older release for now. Hopefully a viable alternative/fork comes around.

  • The Bengali word for multiplication is গুন, which is pronounced like goon. As the uncle with a math degree, I'm sometimes asked to help my nephews with their math homework. They're in high school. They can't stop grinning when we talk about multiplication. Brainrot is truly cross-cultural, I guess.

  • I was just talking to a friend a couple of days ago, that Indian Americans are playing a weird role in US politics. They seem to be some of the worst folks in existence e.g. Kash Patel, Vivek Ramaswami etc.; and also some of the best e.g. Zohran Mamdani, Ro Khanna, Shri Thanedar, Pramila Jayapal etc. There doesn't seem to be any centrist Indian American politician lol.

  • This happens to me pretty regularly while watching YouTube. I forget that I shouldn't be able to hear a siren that loudly over noice cancellation even if it was right outside my door.

  • The error is ~1/log(x), for anyone interested.

  • I have opened some before, but every single time, I'm just kind of awestruck that this thing actually works. It's such a delicate dance of these rapidly moving components, it's hard to even comprehend. SSDs are much much simpler in comparison.

  • Thanks, I'll see if I can find anything.

  • Btw, shiny platter lol.
