"we've built a model based on charging an assload of money for features that barely work and China is making cheap cars that do the job better. Because, you know, the cheap bullshit we've been building. If you force us to compete again we'll lose!"
I suspect the guy in question was identified as somebody who might try something stupid, not competent enough to pull it off, and possibly encouraged to try by an undercover agent.
It was probably upside down when the sap flowed over it. It's antennae are completely vertical and would have been carried in the direction of the sap. Probably suffocated pretty quick, though it's elevated forelimbs might have allowed it to struggle to breathe briefly as it was consumed by sap.
I used to have a roommate that paid me their part of rent through PayPal. After a few months without issue, PayPal didn't let me withdraw my funds because of an arbitrary limit placed on my account. It was like 520 dollars and they wouldn't let me do more than 500 a month.
It's my money, they're just holding it, and they don't get to tell me how much of it I use. The gal on the phone said she'd waive the limit as a one time courtesy and that was the last time I used PayPal. That was almost 20 years ago.
This is not an isolated case. PayPal does this crap all the time.
PayPal is not a bank, they're not regulated, and they can arbitrarily decide your money is their money.
These cars aren't looking through the windscreen. They're covered in sensors and probably use LIDAR system to navigate. They see in the dark and through fog.
It's fairly obvious where the sensors are located looking at the car. And because these cars are dumb as hell, it takes relatively little to disrupt their ability to tell the difference between say, a person the car has to stop for, and a cardboard cutout of Scott Bacula. Or a traffic cone, as another user mentioned though that particular exploit may have been patched out by now.
You sound like a cool dude with many real world friends. Certainly not like some chronically wrong chode who likes to pick at strangers on the internet to make himself feel bigger.
The was hunting yellow backed duiker which, A, are evidently insanely easy to hunt. So easy that you can evidently shine a light at it at night, walk right up to it, and club it to death.
They're a vital food source for a bit part of central Africa.
And 2, they're so heavily hunted that they're at serious risk of endangerment.
I said something in another post about there being a chance this was a genuine conversation effort, but after doing some reading; no. This guy is just an asshole. He got justifiably trampled by elephants doing something for fun that the people of central Africa do every day to feed themselves.
Again, if morality were objective, you'd be able to prove it. If you're going to just cite somebody's interpretation of mythology, you're making an argument from a subjective source.
It may be that the particular animal he was hunting was an elder animal, no longer capable of reproducing or one that threatened the offspring of others. Generally, when they're talking about ethical hunts, they're referring to these specific animals. Allowing rich foreigners to come in and play Safari and pay to remove those animals is a great source of funding for conservation efforts.
It's also possible he just fucking lied. Or he was lied to. Or he knew he was lied to and didn't care.
Regardless of the actual truth, getting trampled by elephants is fitting.
I think ethical conservation hunting is great, and I think trampling stupid rich people to death is even better. How great would it be if both things happened?!
Ok. First of all, that's a cool ass looking cat. I'd never heard of them before and that has brought some joy to my already pretty joyful morning.
Second of all, you'd think that were there some pressure to do so, they would have evolved similar features if it was an advantage due to their size yeah? It's gotta be an environmental thing or some combination of the two. The slit eyes tend to blur the sides of your vision but bring things directly in your line of sight in to more clarity.
Pretty simply, do you require help knowing the difference between what is cruel and what is not? You might need psychiatric help my guy
How can you know for sure that God is apathetic or ignorant?
Because of the suffering of innocents. Any all powerful creature that allows suffering on the scale we are familiar with either doesn't know about it, and is thus ignorant, or doesn't care, and is thus apathetic. Perhaps this creature both knows and cares, in which case it is either powerless to stop it, and therefore not all powerful, or it is a cruel being, and not one by which to set your moral compass.
If there is no basis for objective morality at all,
There isn't. Morality is a supposition.
we have no grounds to condemn other cultures for actions that go against our culture.
This relies on a number of assumptions which are mostly wrong. Am I condemning an entire culture or the actions of a few people? Do the people of that culture think this is a good idea? Are there members of that group that condemn this? Are those members represented? Is the practice being condemned harmful?
I would condemn cruelty happening abroad because I believe everyone is made in the image of God, and God's commandment for all of Humanity was to love one and other. If God isn't real, then why should I care what happens in other countries, if the only morality I have is based on my white, western culture?
So you require someone else to tell you what is right and what is not? Are you incapable of independent thought? Are you devoid of compassion and empathy?
An empathetic person would abhor the suffering of others without divine intervention.
Should God appear to you and demand you sacrifice your eldest son, would you begin sharpening your knife?
If there is no God, humans are just lumps of cells anyway, not too far removed from plants and animals.
We are not removed greatly from animals no. We are animals. We're pretty far removed from plants though.
So why would it be my business what is going on abroad
Empathy my guy. I was kind of kidding before but now I'm actually concerned you lack basic emotional skills that are natural and innate to most people. That's definitionally psychopathy, you might want to look in to that.
The US doesn't recognize the ICC's authority and so does not participate, and he's currently being held in the Hague. I'm not sure there's much Trump could do if he wanted to

But gosh it does feel icky.
