Yeah but the OOP doesn't seem to understand it wasn't about the monarch himself. It was the parliament which contained no representatives from the colonies, therefore nobody to stand up for them in political talks. Nowadays they have career politicians and outright fascists, therefore nobody to stand up for them in political talks. It's just a different flavor of the same oppression
I can't speak for anyone else, but if a company has ads that annoy me I will purposefully go out of my way not to shop there. It won't make me think of them when I go to buy shoes, and when the brand comes up in conversation my first though will be a negative one associated with their annoying ads because that's literally the only thing I know about them. Really can't see how that's a winning marketing strategy but I'm not gonna stop them from wasting billions on ads I'm just gonna block anyway 🤷♂️
I have a hard time believing that was anything more than complete incompetence on Russia's part. Wagner starts a firefight with mixed American and Syrian resistance fighters, to which the US responds by calling the Kremlin to ask if Wagner are acting on orders from them. Russia tells the US that Wagner are not under direct orders from them and to deal with them as they see fit, and Wagner proceeds to get their ass kicked like they usually do. To me that reads a lot more like the usual Kremlin incompetence than any sort of planned provocation
And because of the little metal piece that would break off and prevent your phone from charging. You could just weasel it out with tweezers but most people would think their port was broken because they didn't know it was even an issue.
I'm with you. Those spring-latch-things on the micro just give up on life and the whole thing becomes useless or tears apart the port you try to plug them into. I say leave them in the past
Unfortunately gerrymandering is a flaw in the democratic process. At least in the US, the Voting Rights Act makes it so political parties cannot redraw districts to decrease the political influence of racial or ethnic groups. It says nothing about other political parties, so whichever party is in power when voting lines need to be redrawn will inevitably try to redraw the lines in their favor. Until that sort of gerrymandering is outlawed, it will continue to happen. The party in power isn't going to make it fair for their competition out of the kindness of their heart.
Last year it was counterfeit parts in their engines, and a while ago there was a whole scandal where a large percent of commercial planes were operating with fake parts. Obviously the crack down after the first scandal wasn't strong enough to deter them from doing it again. And again.
The stores around me in the US have a few different sections categorized like that. There's usually an "Asian" and "Latin" section, but I see the European one often as well
