  • What kind of images are we talking about? Container images, VM images, or good old images taken with a camera? It's not really clear from your post.

  • Not an unpopular opinion, IMO.

Companies with TLDs named after them is the best example of how ridiculously big those companies are.

  • And when it does, the windscreen turns blue.

  • I read about it, but I'm not sure those companies allow signups from Tor.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Why is my Snowflake extention suddenly a lot more active?

  • One simple way to run a Tor bridge: The Snowflake extension. It's a browser extension that runs whenever you use your browser.

  • Maybe we could use Bitcoin to buy pizza? I'm sure we won't regret it in 10 years!

  • Is DeleteMe.org real? Looks too good to not be a data stealing scam.

  • Several of the big privacy people have recommended them online, e.g. Techlore, so I'd say yes. Though it's been a couple years since I saw those reviews, and I haven't read up on them recently.

    EDIT: Grammar.

  • Well, I was born into it, so I don't have anything to compare it with. But so far so good, got a degree and a job, so I'm good.

  • Not entirely true. I've done the research. It's difficult, yes, but some places in the world allow it. E.g. Scandinavian countries.

  • My condolences. You did the right thing by being there for her and comforting her while she took her last breath. Kudos to you.

  • Bazzite is the more gaming oriented flavour of Universal Blue's distros, but take a look at Bluefin if you wanna try something similar (but not focused on gaming, although gaming also works fine on it). I've used it for about a year or so myself, and I love it. It's immutable so it "just works", but I can still play around and tinker with distroboxes or VMs.

  • This reminds me of this: in Danish, "zipping up" means both zipping and unzipping a zipper.

  • There are syringes that come prefilled with saline used to flush IVs. Some people can taste it when it's injected, others can't. I'm one of those who can.

I can quickly learn to recognize specific people's footsteps, so I can hear who's approaching. Sometimes it doesn't even depend on what footwear the person is wearing.

Apparently I can hear high pitched sounds too. I've heard such sounds several times where people around me weren't able to hear it, and recently I could hear an ultrasound device too, which kinda make sense since they start at around 20 kHz.

Also, this isn't about sensing, but I can slow my heart rate temporarily simply by holding my breath.
