  • I just don’t think a full immersive headset is in the interest of most people for a general computing device. Like there are really just two uses with broad appeal and one Apple doesn’t really care about much and the other will never in 1000 years be in the Apple App Store. The Vision Pro was basically DOA at that point.

    Smart glasses with a HUD seems like a better compromise or a low powered, low weight immersive VR device that’s more or less just an Apple Watch until paired with a Mac which holds all the brains of the operation and just streams it to the headset

  • Banks also pay the depositors interest so you should want the bank to make money. Unless you suggest that we should be storing our money in coffee cans and burying them in the yard. In which case, your money is even less valuable due to inflation and their is less money for the bank to lend to you community.

    That being said banks should be regional and community focused and should never be allowed to grow to the size where if they make bad investments it takes our entire financial system down with it.

  • As a non-db0 user I was disappointed with the decision to defederate with feddit. (Mostly because I want a more cooperative and open fediverse, being on lw the decision didn’t affect me)

    This is just a sad reaction, trying to paint db0 as neonazi’s, which everyone saw right through immediately.

    I’m shocked the original thread actually was archived though, figured it would be blocked by a sign in page or something and wouldn’t have actually been backed up by the wayback. Makes it even sadder that it was this easily disproven.

    This nazi instance can just make up accounts they claim are the db0 admin and say they have infiltrated other instances. That’s what they do, just say shit to upset people.

  • I’ll be completely honest. I much more enjoyed the state of the game after they dropped Stella Montis than any of the updates since.

    The nerfs to durability and the cloak are just more reasons to make the game feel like a chore to play. I have probably ran less than 5 raids in the month of March and the game is quickly losing its luster for me.

    They nerfed the crafting costs of the best equipment and the resources you get from killing the toughest arc enemies. They nerfed the best weapons and introduced game breaking crashes on console.

    Feels like they pulled the A team off the game after they released everything that should have been in the game on release and every other update seems to make the game less fun to play and more grindy

  • It depends on the issuing institutions. Most credit/debit cards can deal in foreign transactions but some banks/credit unions block those types of transactions to prevent fraud/stolen card details.

  • Well this is disappointing. One of my favorite things about Apple and apple products is they were mostly devoid of AI (mostly due to lack of competence than choice likely but devoid nonetheless)

    If this is the direction the company heading it’s just accelerating the downfall that began under twilight Tim Apple. Apple was for creators, it is supposed to be antithetical to AI.

  • I agree with your statements that the problems go beyond just Netanyahu but I would characterize the establishment of the current state as problematic than illegitimate.

    Then discourse then would be whether the Jewish people have a claim to the land, the same as Arabs. I believe, despite the wrongs of the crusaders, colonialism, and religion in the region; they do.

    I hate that the region is more or less established due to geopolitics, exploitation by the wealthy and political classes, and religious fervor than fairness than the right of a people to self-govern.

  • I agree with you that you can’t support the current Netanyahu government and IDF and be anti-genocide.

    Hamas abducted and kills innocent people. That’s a fact. I can be anti-genocide and anti-attacks on civilians without contradicting myself.

    A two-state solution is messy and complicated but it’s what the world needs. Arabs and Jews both have claims to the land throughout history. The Jews were displaced from it due to horrific antisemitism throughout history. One horrific act doesn’t deserve another. The west (and specifically the USA) needs to withhold its support, Israel can do what it’s doing specifically because it’s emboldened by western support. It’s surrounded by Arab nations that hates its people, it could be the ones being oppressed if not for the west and the west remind of that.

    I would hope we can all remember that we can be pro-Palestine, anti-genocide without being anti-semitic, you can be anti-Hamas without being pro-genocide, you can believe in a state for the Jewish people and also be against the current government of Israel.

    We are all on the fediverse for similar reasons, we’ll be a lot more successful trying to see the nuance in people’s views instead making enemies of each other out of righteous indignation. This goes for everyone
