    I tried to do a VPN with Tailscale and just couldn't wrap my head around it.

  • I had a job cold call me for an interview. During the interview it turned out I'd be working for a guy I've already worked for in the past, but the company went under.

    He asked me why I applied, I said "I didn't, they called me and asked if I wanted an interview, I've never heard of this place before". He didn't like that answer.

  • That really depends, are you counting the mortgage as the mortgage + property taxes + insurance?

    Your "mortgage" payment is usually a bundled escrow payment. My mortgage is only 425 every two weeks, but I pay the property taxes (5600 yearly) and insurance separately. I bought the house for 235k ten years ago, is value is currently 475k (according to Zillow)

    I live in one of the richer areas of greater Cincinnati, in one of the top 10 school districts in the entire state of Ohio. I wouldn't call it a slum.

  • I had Plex long enough to try to watch a movie from outside my house and realize I had to pay to do it. Luckily swapping to Jellyfin on unraid was just uninstalling Plex and using the same folders

  • YSK: 15 minutes of reading a day translates to 12 - 20 books a year

  • I'm a slow reader, arguably a bit dyslexic even. 15 minutes of reading is maybe 3 to 4 pages.

    I find myself accidently skipping lines, then having to go back and re read what I already read, then realize I skipped that line too and the page all over again.

    Even if not dyslexia, that font designed for dyslexic readers actually helps me a lot.

  • I posted a review of a rechargeable mountable lamp that didn't work, wouldn't charge. Popped it open because it was broke and I walked to figure out why.

    Turns out the electronics caught fire and burnt out. The review was never authorized and never showed up in the site.

    I hate Amazon so much, I cannot convince my wife to drop it.
