Agreed on both points, High and Low was the highlight for me over more spectacle focused films. Amazingly thought out movie with some very powerful character driven scenes.
He calls this his "best advice", definitely sounds like the kind of guy who's so brain dead he asks chat gpt how it would lead a large gaming conglomerate
Heard from someone who works at Microsoft, not the gaming branch, they’re telling new hires they havs 7 days to make a code change with AI or they’re out.
"Monster", which IMO is much more interesting and clever then Death Note. And if you like that, "Pluto" by the same creator.
Code Geass is basically the same premise, but I feel like Death Note does a better job pretending to be some 400 IQ mind games then actually being intriguing and clever. Way more telling us the protagonist/antagonist is smart then showing us in subtle, engaging ways.
Still both good shows, but I just didn't see them as 10/10 masterpieces.
I will say I think the sequel was justified in how much more they added gameplay wise, taking advantage of advancements in processing power. It really opens up the world, the things you can do and see are incredible and are a huge jump from the first game.
2 also manages to improve on the gameplay in big ways, hardly a moment that isn't engaging and interesting and I never felt limited, and some very cool and atmospheric settings.
Also, grown Ellie is one of my favorite characters ever, so much well executed, human, relatable nuance, and that's a take that has nothing to do with her sexuality.
One thing to be concerned about with the 5V is it doesn't have all the 4g/5g bands in certain countries (United States, India). Not sure about Australia.
Otherwise as someone who was in your shoes awhile ago, 5V was my dream phone for the small screen and finally addressing the issues the 5 iii and iv had. Ended up going with the 5 iv which is great, but certainly lots of issues. Namely, both the 1 and 5 iii and iv have major overheating issues due to a bad chip.
Also on the Xperias the weird screen ratio takes some getting used to, think I still prefer the more popular ratio.
I've installed a very good audio system in my car for $200, there's no way an extra $500 or so on top of the $20k was breaking the bank for consumers or the company. Really weird concession to make.
First two thirds did feel like your basic above average big budget horror movie, but then my god the emotional punch of the last third was all time. Really well executed last third set up by the first two thirds.
